The Davis Family
In the infant studio, the educators follow a flexible schedule that is responsive to the needs of the individual child. Parents are encouraged to share their home routine with the educators, as they understand how important routine can be to children of this age.
Educators work to form a secure attachment with the children, as well as building relationships with the families. Parents receive a daily log from the educators which covers their child’s feeding, sleeping and toileting patterns.
The focus for the children is on those basic first skills such as sitting, crawling and walking. Educators seek to develop language skills of the children with conversation, singing and reading.
Children in the Juniors studio are developing their skills in confidence and independence, within a safe and secure environment. A consistent routine and familiar educators build a sense of security, so your child can confidently engage in learning.
Socialisation will be gently encouraged and guided to help friendships and empathy form. Your child’s growing independence is supported by caring educators who will help them take the first steps in toilet training. Educators will communicate openly with parents through conversation, as well as a daily record of your child’s eating, sleeping and toileting.
The play-based educational program is tailored to each child’s learning needs and interests. Emerging intellectual, social, emotional, physical and language skills are built on and extended.
The children in the Seniors room are developing skills in friendships and cooperative play, with the help of their educators. The children are encouraged to explore and experiment in a safe space, and educators work with children’s own interests to guide their learning.
Literacy and numeracy skills are developed through games and social interaction. Educators keep parents informed of the children’s day, their challenges, changes and daily routine.
The state government funded kindergarten is led by university qualified teachers, with a focus on building the children’s capacity for responsibility and accountability for their own learning.
With the longer hours of a child care centre, the kindergarten children have an extended opportunity to access the curriculum, giving the children scope to work on long term projects of inquiry in order to empower them as 21st century thinkers and communicators.
The key for the children is to prepare them for the transition to formal education. The children make their learning visible through words, drawing, numbers, dance, painting, clay, music, movement, loose parts, transformative play and more.
At Mother Duck Bellbowrie, the focus of the educators is on reflective practice to ensure they understand all they can about children and their development; finding new and innovative ways to solve problems, engage in challenging tasks, and using information technology and print-based texts to find things out; giving children the gift of time to listen to their ideas and incorporate these into the curriculum; sustainable practices to teach the children how to be a valuable member of society; and teaching children skills beyond academics such as compassion, collaboration, empathy, kindness, grace and honesty.
The centre has long-serving, dedicated educators, some of whom have been at the centre for over 15 years. There are a number of bilingual educators who speak a variety of languages including Spanish, Korean, Turkish and Persian
My favourite part of my day is walking into the studios to spend time with our amazing children and educators. After 20 years of being an Early Childhood Teacher, I still love getting to know each child and their family and building relationships that last long after the children have grown up and moved onto school.
I am so lucky to be able to watch the children grow and discover new skills and ideas that will stay with them for the rest of their lives. I truly have the best job in the world!

Extremely disappointed and disgusted with the level of care provided. The service is absolutely unacceptable, especially when it comes to the way our children are being treated.<br><br>When we picked up our son, we discovered that he was wearing two diapers. We had put a fresh diaper on him in the morning, yet another diaper had simply been put on top of it instead of properly changing him. We only noticed this after getting home.<br><br>This is not the standard of care we expect for our child. Children are completely dependent on staff to look after their basic needs, and something as simple and important as properly changing a child’s diaper should never be neglected.<br><br>We trusted this service to care for our child, but experiences like this make us seriously question how much attention and care is actually being given to the children. Our children deserve much better than this.<br><br>Very poor service and extremely disappointing care. I would strongly encourage management to investigate how the children are being looked after and take parents’ concerns seriously.

We absolutely adore Mother Duck! My daughter Kaddy first started attending way back in 2020 where she completed the kindy program and progressed on to school. When I had my next daughter Mella I was eager to get her in to Mother Duck as soon as a spot became available. I had to go back to work quite early on with Mella and so she has been through all of the rooms, now a big kindy girl. Throughout our entire experience we have felt so supported and loved. Mella has additional support needs and Mother Duck was able to seamlessly address these concerns and help provide and facilitate the extra support required. They also have the best family Christmas parties, movie nights and so much more! All of the staff members are so welcoming and it makes it so much easier going to work knowing that Mella will be supported and cared for in a loving and safe environment. Childcare is such a hot topic right now and with such negative media coverage across all of the sector I write this review in the hopes that you feel much more at ease when considering Mother Duck Bellbowrie. No centre is perfect but this one is right up there with the best! A home away from home, the centre, their morals, and the staff members truly are a lifeline to us.

We moved from another centre to mother duck which is a life changing move for us. Staff here are all very caring and flexible. I am almost the latest parent to pick my kid most of time but the staff are all very patient and friendly. I highly recommend this centre.

Our boy had a great experience here repeating his kindy year before moving off to school. The staff were so supportive and always looking to engage with each kids interests. They are quick to identify sensory needs and look to support or redirect as necessary. Our son had a lot of dietary needs and they were always happy to help and find solutions. They helped improve our boys confidence so much that he is now ready and excited for school.
