About the Curriculum

OUR CURRICULUM

Greenfield early learning Centre will be following active learning curriculum also know as Highscope curriculum.

Infant- Toddlers Curriculum

What we teach
our youngest learners need to feel safe and supported so they can learn with their whole body and all of their senses. In a HighScope infant and toddler program, teachers focus on developing supportive, trusting relationships with the children in their care. We create rich environments that encourage very young children to explore and discover the world around them, helping them to engage in experiences designed to support their optimal development in all domains.

we value and respect parents as their children’s first teachers. That’s why we encourage teachers to partner with parents in learning everything they can about their infants and toddlers to better care for their needs and plan for their development. As a result, our programs create a strong three-way bond between child, parent, and caregiver.

Active learning is at the center of the HighScope Curriculum. It’s the foundation where young children gain knowledge through their natural play and interactions with the environment, events, and other people.

How we teach
In the HighScope Infant-Toddler Curriculum, learning is focused on these six content areas:

  • Approaches to Learning
  • Social and Emotional Development
  • Physical Development and Health
  • Communication, Language, and Literacy
  • Cognitive Development
  • Creative Arts

Preschool Curriculum

What we teach
In a HighScope preschool program, teachers ignite children’s interest in learning by creating an environment that encourages them to explore learning materials and interact with adults and peers. We focus on supporting early learners as they make decisions, build academic skills, develop socially and emotionally, and become part of a classroom community.

Active learning is at the center of the HighScope Curriculum. It’s the foundation of young children gaining knowledge through their natural play and interactions with the environment, events, and other people.

How we teach
To create a predictable and active learning environment, teachers arrange and equip the classroom with diverse, open ended materials that reflect children’s home, culture, and language. The room is organized and labeled to promote independence and encourage children to carry out their intentions.

In the HighScope Preschool Curriculum, learning is focused on the following eight content areas:

  • Approaches to Learning
  • Social and Emotional Development
  • Physical Development and Health
  • Language, Literacy, and Communication
  • Mathematics
  • Creative Arts
  • Science and Technology
  • Social Studies
Kindergarten/Preschool Programs

Kindergarten/Preschool Programs

Kindergarten

Kindergarten is an opportunity to learn to share, follow instructions and begin the foundation for learning that will occur in school. This environment helps young children learn to make friends and play well with others. At , our educators observe, ask questions and listen to children’s ideas. To nurture their curiosity and motivation to learn, educators use children’s interests and ideas to create experiences.

To prepare children for the academic demands of school they are offered a wide variety of games and activities that help them acquire numeracy and literacy skills. For example, matching, sorting, counting and board games build children’s understanding of numbers, categories and sequences, which supports later math learning.

At Greenfield early learning, children’s language skills are nurtured in a ‘language-rich’ environment. Their language skills are stretched by asking thought-provoking questions and introducing new vocabulary during their daily experiences. Children have many opportunities to sing, talk about favourite books and act out stories. Children’s cognitive skills are strengthened by engaging in a wide range of hands-on experiences that challenge them to observe closely, ask questions, test their ideas or solve a problem.

In order to learn, a young child needs to feel cared-for and secure, be able to spend time away from parents and build trusting relationships with adults outside the family. Our high-quality Kindergarten program nurtures warm relationships among children, teachers and parents.

It is an absolutely wonderful place for children to learn and grow. Educators are caring, professional, and go above and beyond to create a warm and nurturing environment. The centre is always clean, well-organised, and filled with engaging activities that support every child’s development. I especially appreciate how the team communicates with families and involves us in the learning journey. My child feels safe, happy, and excited to go every day which speaks about the love and dedication the staff put into their work. Highly recommend Greenfield ELC to any parent looking for a supportive and high-quality early learning experience. Special thanks to Lovella and Anju I wish I could give 7 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Fantastic place and healthy environment for the kids. Place is well managed by the friendly director Anju. Great food and wonderful educators who take care of the kids like their own. We had put both our kids here and could not ask for a better place for them to learn. Highly recommended place for the working parents to put them in.
