Welcome to Little Flamingos Family Day Care.
My name is Melanie, and I am the owner and educator of Little Flamingos Family Day Care in Wollert, Victoria, operating under Foundations Family Day Care.
I have worked in early childhood education since 1999 after completing my Diploma in Children’s Services (Centre-Based Care) at Victoria University.
I am passionate about creating a warm, nurturing, and inclusive environment where children feel safe, valued, respected, and supported to learn and grow at their own pace. I believe every child is capable, competent, and unique, and I tailor my program to each child’s individual interests, developmental stage, and needs.
I have experience supporting children with additional needs, including Type 1 diabetes, allergies, autism, ADHD, hypermobility, and asthma, as well as caring for newborns, twins, and triplets.
With over 40 years in the dance industry, I love incorporating creativity, movement, music, and self-expression into everyday learning experiences, helping children build confidence, coordination, and joy through play-based learning.
As a mother of three independent children, two working full-time and my youngest currently completing Year 12, I understand the importance of building strong, respectful partnerships with families and providing reliable, high-quality care that families can trust. Our home also includes two friendly dogs, Bubba and Toby.
Little Flamingos Family Day Care provides care for children aged 6 weeks-12 years in a welcoming home environment designed to support children’s holistic development and sense of belonging.
Care is available Monday-Friday, 8:00am to 6:00pm, with flexible options available for working families, including extended hours, non-standard hours, and overnight care upon request.
Additional services include:
