When we moved to Mosman 3 years ago, we were desperate to find childcare for our baby boy. Then we found shadforth cottage, and it turned out to be the best decision we ever made. The teachers are incredibly caring and warm, which helped our son quickly form a strong bond with all his class teachers. Our son, who is super energetic, loves the curricula that shadforth provides, he was so excited to go to school everyday, sometimes even on the weekend he told us he wanted to go to school :-) there are a lot of activities such as craftwork, drawing, show and tell (my son’s favourite), yoga, growfit, healthy Harold, father/mother/grandparents day and Xmas performances, made his time there truly enjoyable. One thing we as parents really appreciated, was the daily sent out (daily summary and photos) by the class teachers, so we get to know they he did on the day. He then went on to shadforth preschool last year, where he started learning letter, numbers and single syllable words, our son has progressed so much and now made a smooth transition into kindy primary school. But every time we walked past shadforth, my son always asks can we go in to see my old teachers? Last but not least, special shout out to Emma, who’s always been super responsive, helpful, and tried her best to coordinate our needs, we cannot thank her enough.

We sent our daughter to Shadforth Cottage because we heard it was the best centre for kids to attend before starting school. We were not disappointed. While the staff at all the child care places our kids attended were lovely, we found the Shadforth Cottage educators made extra effort to develop the potential of the children, giving them literacy and numeracy skills while also allowing them time to have fun and socialise. Thanks to Louise and her team at the Shadforth Cottage preschool, we feel our little girl is now ready for school (we'll find out for sure in a couple of weeks!). Sylvia and Emma, you have a great centre, keep up the good work.

My eldest child went to Shadforth from the age of 2 and a half to 5 years old. This year he started school at Mosman Public. He has transitioned into “big school” very well and easily. It is clear that the preparation for school at Shadforth pre-school has helped our son, during quite a disrupted first year of school. With more than one term of homeschooling, we as parents are now aware how fast-paced and challenging the Kindy curriculum can be (for instance, in literature they have already covered conjunctions). We are grateful for the foundation our son received at Shadforth, as it set him up well for the curriculum that Kindy currently follows, along with the unpredictable demands that can be thrown at school children, especially during this pandemic.

Shadforth Cottage is a wonderful community - led by deeply experienced, professional, caring, passionate leaders and educators. We currently have two children in the daycare, and our youngest (third) will join in mid-2022. We couldn't be more grateful for such a community-minded and professional team, who not only support the children with inspired learning experiences, consistent routines and a warm environment - but they support us as parents, too. During 2020-21, the communication and clarity from Shadforth Cottage around COVID measures, operations, adjustments based on health advice and other relevant procedures was seamless. I always felt informed, supported and grateful to have this consistency and stability during a time that was fraught with challenges on so many fronts. The educators are experienced, passionate, deeply capable and connected. They all know our children and family, make us feel very welcome at drop-off and pick-up, and are proactive in asking questions and seeking feedback. Our two eldest have been attending Shadforth since they were six/seven months old, and all three will complete their daycare and preschool years there - continually being challenged and inspired as they grow older, move into the next class and prepare for school. With three very young children and both parents who work full-time, we couldn't have done it without the genuine care and support of Sylvia, Emma and the wonderful Shadforth team. We couldn't recommend Shadforth Cottage more highly.

This preschool was the best decision we could have made before Kindy starting next year. I only wished we'd moved to Shadforth sooner! The preschool is run by a dedicated group of teachers, who ensure the children have the skillset required to give them the best start in their transition to school. The team are wonderful and go above and beyond to make every child feel welcome and feel comfortable in their new surroundings. The enrolment process was quick and easy and the support I received on my enquiries also quick and helpful. I cannot fault this centre at all and highly recommend this for families who are looking for much more than just a standard daycare.

Our 4-year-old attended the preschool on Avenue Rd for 5 days a week from 9:00 - 3:00 pm for about 5 months before he went to Kindy. We found the care he received, the facilities, and the food he received to be excellent. All of the teachers were professional and caring; they seemed to really love what they do! My only comment was that the billing invoices were a bit hard to understand but we never had any issues with billing. Thank you so much Shadforth for providing such a nurturing environment from which our child could launch his education at "Big School."

My son loved attending Shadforth Cottage preschool when he was little and really thrived in their care. The staff were all lovely and nurturing and proactive in their communication. There was always something being planned for the kids and many fun events going which families also got to be part of. We have some very fond memories and very pleased we followed our gut in choosing Shadforth Cottage. Thank you
