My experience with this childcare centre was very disappointing. The staff lacked the professionalism, confidence, and experience to manage children’s behaviour in a supportive way. Instead of working with me to understand my son’s needs, they constantly called during my work hours demanding I pick him up, showing little flexibility or understanding for working parents. They did not provide the right support, resources, or strategies to help my son feel safe or included. When staff changes occurred, which clearly unsettled him, they failed to acknowledge the impact and instead claimed he was “the change.” They were also not supportive or facilitating his transition to school, and their response was to exclude him rather than help him adapt. In the end, they expelled a 4-year-old child, forcing him to attend another centre — where he has since excelled, settled beautifully, and no longer requires disruptive pick-up calls. The owner, Sarah, was unwelcoming and dismissive, which made communication even harder. I would not recommend this centre for families seeking a nurturing, understanding, and inclusive environment for their children.
We are truly sorry to hear that your experience with our centre did not meet your expectations. At Next Generation Kindergarten, we prioritise the wellbeing and safety of every child and educator. Our team made multiple attempts to work collaboratively with your family to support your child’s needs and behaviour, including inviting you to meetings and phone discussions to create a consistent plan between home and the centre. Unfortunately, these efforts were not successful as we were unable to establish the necessary communication and partnership that is essential for a child’s development and inclusion. The decision to end care was never made lightly — it followed incidents where your child’s behaviour posed a safety risk to other children and staff. Our responsibility is to ensure a safe and nurturing environment for all. We are pleased to hear that your child is now thriving in their new setting, and we genuinely wish your family all the best for the future.

Our newly upgraded facilities have been thoughtfully redesigned to create a warm, modern, and engaging environment where children can thrive. At Hector Street, we believe that every child is unique, and our passionate team of qualified educators are dedicated to supporting each child’s development through play-based learning experiences. Guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), our programs foster growth across all key areas — social, emotional, cognitive, and physical — while encouraging curiosity, independence, and confidence.
In addition to our high-quality long day care services, we also provide Before and After School Care and Vacation Care, offering families flexible options throughout the year. To support children’s wellbeing, we serve nutritious meals, prepared to meet a variety of dietary needs.
