Health and Nutrition

Health and Nutrition

Our amazing in-house chef, Holly, prepares nutritious, delicious meals right here on-site! With her magic touch, she creates everything from scratch such as freshly baked bread, fluffy muffins, and tasty afternoon tea treats that kids (and parents!) can’t get enough of.

Every meal is carefully planned to suit each child’s cultural preferences, medical needs, and dietary requirements. Holly also involves the children in cooking sessions, giving them hands-on experience in food preparation - from mixing and measuring to taste-testing, kids get to explore new flavours and pick up essential life skills along the way!

Children learn to collaborate, problem-solve, and express themselves while building key skills in literacy, numeracy, and communication. They also explore healthy choices, personal responsibility, and creative thinking in an engaging and supportive environment.

We provide inquiry-based curriculum through play - across exciting learning areas, including:

  • STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths)
  • Language and Literacy
  • Active and Involved Citizens
  • Nature Play and Sustainability
  • The Arts
  • Health and Wellbeing

With a balance of small and whole-group experiences, both indoors and outdoors, children are encouraged to wonder, discover, and grow - preparing them for a bright future ahead!

Zaki is loved by all his educators, including the casual team members who know him well and understand his preferences. In the nursery room, he is fully supported through a wide orange of learning program that focuses on exploration, sensory play, and building strong relationships. Zaki loves coming here everyday.

Where do I even begin with this school. 2 years ago my son started attending story house and from day dot, it was inviting and welcoming for not only myself but for my son as well. After previously having poor experiences with childcare centre interstate, I was hesitant about enrolling him into another school. All of the staff understood that and supported me through it all. Every time I see the director (Pam) she not only knows all the children, but she is aware of parents names, grandparents name, siblings names everyone’s. She cares and she shows it. The educators are passionate about what they do, and work hard to support all of the children to help grow their minds. When feedback is provided it is taken on board, the communication between educators and families is always amazing and you never miss anything when it comes to the children’s developments. My family and I regularly joke about the fact that my son has a 5 course meal at school every day and he is getting more nutrition than us. The school prioritises the children in all circumstances. My son has been supported in his friendships, his growth and support. This centre genuinely goes the extra mile and treats you like an individual. At this centre my child is not just a number or another box ticked and neither am I. I have cried in the hallway when I thought my son might need to change schools, if that doesn’t say how supportive this school is then I don’t know what does. All of these educators are so valued at this school, and I for one am beyond thankful for all they do, for my sons little brain.
