The educators and manager are very nice and friendly. My son likes to be there. I also feel happy and safe to send my son to Little Assets at Forest Hill. I can see my son is very happy and enjoy when I pick him up from the child care. Sometimes I request them to do something for my son and they all fulfilled it.

What the parents say

What the parents say

"My youngest child attended Petit Forest Hill for 2.5 years, and he was exceptionally well taken care of by the caring and dedicated educators. Choosing this center was the best decision for my boy. Every week, they offered extracurricular activities such as yoga, Hey Dee Ho, and sports. I am especially grateful to Betty for the well-planned Kinder program. My son always came home excitedly sharing what he had learned. Throughout the two years of the Kinder program, he enjoyed numerous enriching excursions to places like the local library, farm, Twisted Science, and engaging incursions, such as school readiness sessions with speech therapists. Witnessing my son's transformation from a shy boy to a confident preppy has been heartening. Though bidding farewell is bittersweet, I hope my review provides valuable insight for those choosing a daycare."

"Excellent service through and through.
Not only do they provide dynamic, engaging and age appropritate learning program (also for the younger age groups), but also the strong bond and attachment my child has built with the educators across the centre is amazing to witness.

Management team is outstanding at coordinating the day to day operations, and are always prompt in their communication with families. The countless events are well thought through ans well organised.

Centre is well staffed, well resourced, and provides appetising and nutritious meals.

We are at ease sending out child to the centre knowing how happy they are which we can see through the daily updates."

Centre philosophy

Centre philosophy

At the heart of our ethos lie six fundamental beliefs guiding our vision and commitment to your child's growth. These principles drive us to place your child at the forefront of everything we do.

Our philosophy encapsulates the essence of our learning framework, ensuring quality outcomes for your child. These principles steer our decisions on curriculum, ongoing learning, and reflective practices across all Petit ELJ centers. They signify our identity and aspirations, fostering a partnership with parents throughout your child's formative years.

Our Six Core Beliefs:

  1. Child-Centric Learning: Every child is capable, resourceful, and an architect of their own knowledge. We empower autonomy, respect children's voices, and encourage expression of ideas.
  2. Active Learning: Learning is an active process and a cornerstone of our play-based pedagogy. We facilitate intentional teaching experiences, nurturing individual learning journeys through curiosity and reflection.
  3. Family Collaboration: Partnering with families cultivates strong relationships. We value their insights, building trust and working together to ensure children's success.
  4. Community Engagement: Connecting with the community supports holistic wellbeing. Through events, activities, and support initiatives, we foster meaningful relationships and support those in need.
  5. Learning Environment: Our physical spaces are potential hubs for learning. We utilize natural elements and engaging environments to fuel curiosity and creativity.
  6. Contemporary Teaching Approaches: Our teams embrace modern teaching methods through reflective practice and collaborative discussions, ensuring relevance and engagement.

Language is crucial in our approach. We advocate for respectful language, acknowledging the complexity of early childhood development and the professionalism of our educators. We refrain from terms like "childcare worker" and "daycare," emphasizing education and care as integral to our mission.

At Petit, we craft a nurturing, respectful environment that values each child's unique journey. Join us in fostering a love for learning and enrolling your child in an enriching early learning journey where development and connection thrive at every step.

Programs

Programs

The children participate in a range of incursions and excursions throughout the year to support their learning and development. They visit Myuna Farm, the library and local aged care facilities and supermarkets. At Petit Early Learning Journey Forest Hill, the children also have the opportunity to participate in Hey Dee Ho Music, Little Sports Heroes and Fun-Key Yoga.

About the curriculum

About the curriculum

The curriculum at Petit Early Learning Journey is based on an individual approach that recognises the unique skills, perspectives, knowledge and expectations of each child. Supported by the Early Years Learning Framework, the curriculum allows for child-focused, play-based learning where the children can explore their natural curiosity and develop their imagination. The educators take a holistic approach to each child to help them develop their cognitive, emotional and social skills.

The children are cared for in three different rooms:

  • Babies (0-2 yrs)
  • Toddlers (2-3 yrs)
  • Kindergarten (3-5 yrs)

I have always had a passion for working with young children. One of my biggest motivations for working with young children is knowing I can make a positive difference to a child’s life during the early stages.

Getting to know each child and seeing them reach each milestone is the most rewarding aspect.

It’s incredible seeing the children become independent beings forming friendships, learning new skills and experiencing beautiful moments together.

I encourage family participation and welcome engagement and collaboration in the program with our open-door policy. We have experienced many magical moments within our Centre, and I can’t wait to share this journey with you and your family.

Our daughter has been attending this Centre since she was 2 years old and she is now 5 and in her final year here. I can honestly say we as a family are so sad to say goodbye to Little Assets Forest Hill. Our daughter has thrived here and made beautiful friendships with her peers. We as parents have always felt 100% confident that she is safe and well looked after. The staff are exceptional. Especially since ownership changeover. The leadership staff of Yuhan, Chelsea and Rinku go above and beyond to create the nurturing environment they do. Walking into the centre you feel a sense of calm and good energy. The staff are supporting not just the kids but us parents as well. The line up of activities they arrange for the children is very impressive from music to dancing, yoga, sport in addition to the exciting incursions and excursions they organise such as the local library, aged care and parklsnds. On excursions they have supported children to use public transport for travel which has been brilliant and so well run. They celebrate all types of cultural events and celebrations. Little Assets has given our daughter such a well rounded early childhood experience. She has already learned so much about the world and herself which they have helped facilitate.

Response from the owner 01 Aug 2025

This is absolutely humbling to hear. We are exceptionally thankful to all our families for trusting our service, educators and embracing our philosophy. We wish you and your family nothing but the best with everything ahead. Thank you for believing in us.

Such a fantastic centre for my daughter! She absolutely loves coming here, and the staff are incredibly caring and supportive. The centre offers great opening hours and provides everything the children need throughout the day. They also go above and beyond with extra activities like music, dance and sports sessions which my daughter really enjoys. The meals provided are healthy and must be delicious. She always asks for more! Highly recommend this centre!
