Koolyangarra Early Childhood Centre is under the management of a non for profit organization called Kummara Association Inc, it is our aim at Koolyangarra to provide an environment where every child feels happy, safe and secure. Our centre aims to provide a place that will maximise each child's full potential. Children need to fee safe, loved and appreciated and we see high quality childcare as the right of each child.

Our program is based on a the well-known and highly regarded play based learning approach to Early Childhood Education. Through this approach to learning, we will carefully "grow up" you children's intellectual, emotional physical and social development. Play Based learning is important  because it is culturally and developmentally appropriate, is inclusive of all ages of development and is supported by evidence based practice and brain research that informs the need for, and the nature of learning opportunities for children to develop attitudes, skills and understandings.

We believe that children need a structured environment in order to gain security, maximize their learning and learn respect for the rights of others. Within this structure, flexibility is required to provide a sensitive approach to children and families cultural needs. We have a culturally inclusive centre whose focus is working together, sharing and caring.

The Koolyangarra is licensed by, and must comply with the Childcare Regulations 2003 and the Childcare Act 2002 . We follow the Early Years Learning Framework and are committed to continuing improvement and self-assessment under the National Quality Standards. We are proud to say that we exceed all licensing requirements in relation to staffing (qualifications and child to caregiver ratios).

The Office of Early Childhood Education and Care, whose representative visits the centre on a regular basis, regulate our centre.
