We couldn’t be happier with this beautiful little daycare centre. One of the things that really makes it special is how small and personal it feels. We were surprised to see that all the staff know our kids, even the lovely chef knew their names! It makes the centre feel like such a warm, family-like environment where the I know my kids feel safe, recognised and genuinely cared for. The staff are absolutely incredible. They are kind, patient, passionate and always go above and beyond for the kids. Something we love seeing are the setups for the children to play with. They are always beautiful, inviting and clearly designed with the children’s interests in mind. I feel at ease knowing that my kids feel so safe and comfortable around all of the staff. If their teachers are not there in the morning, they are usually pretty happy to go to any of the staff because of the special bond each of them create with the kids. The managers are also fantastic, always so helpful and genuinely happy to see us and our kids every day. Along with being helpful with any questions we have or concerns we’ve raised, they always are happy to help us out in the morning or afternoon. Even just to help us take the kids out to the playground or if they see we’ve had a tough morning they call us and check in later in the day. You can tell they really care about the families in the centre. We feel so lucky to be part of such a nurturing, supportive and positive community at Una and we highly recommend to any family looking for a centre where children are truly known, valued and supported by the whole centre.

Pet Turtle

A much loved member of our centre is Tilly, our pet turtle. Tilly is adored by the children, families and staff, and plays a special role in our daily life. From gentle observations to conversations about caring for living things, she helps nurture empathy, responsibility and curiosity in our little learners.

Kindy Space

Our Kindergarten children enjoy their very own dedicated space downstairs, thoughtfully designed to support school readiness and independence. This area features a beautiful bush kindy playground that encourages exploration, risk-taking and a love of the natural world. With seamless indoor-outdoor flow, the children can move freely between learning environments, fostering creativity, confidence and connection to nature.

Specialist Music Teacher

Adding to the richness of our program, a specialist music teacher visits us fortnightly to engage the children in interactive music classes. Through rhythm, movement and song, children build confidence, coordination and a lifelong appreciation for music. We are also fortunate to have wonderful connections within our local community. Special visitors, including our nearby fire brigade and police department, visit the service and spend time with the children, helping them understand the important roles these community helpers play in keeping us safe.

About the Curriculum

About the Curriculum

At Una Kids, our learning journeys begin with a big, meaningful Inquiry Question that sparks curiosity for children and educators alike. We share why we’ve chosen it, what we hope to discover, and invite families to join the adventure. Our educators then create warm, engaging spaces that encourage children to explore, wonder, and investigate.

As children interact with these environments, we watch what captures their interest, how they experiment, and what ideas begin to grow. We value child-led learning, celebrating when children follow their own interests and show us what inspires them.

Throughout the inquiry, we research, reflect, and gather meaningful resources to deepen our understanding. Our team meets to reflect on children’s engagement and plan thoughtful next steps, keeping the journey flexible, purposeful, and driven by the children’s natural curiosity…….just as learning should be at Una Kids!

About three years ago, I took my son to the Chatterbox childcare for his very first day. I was there too, since I was doing my student placement. My son didn’t eat morning tea or lunch. He could see the sandwiches prepared for the children, and he kept telling me he was starving, almost to the point of fainting, asking for food. Yet the kindy room teacher wouldn’t allow it, saying he had to wait until 3:00. It was heartbreaking to watch, especially as I was paying $150 a day. My son had no prior routine there, and he was genuinely hungry. Eventually, he became distressed. I felt the environment was highly unprofessional, lacking understanding of childcare laws. I have no positive memories of Chatterbox and consider it one of the worst childcare experiences.
