I am pregnant and was looking for a place before birth to help us during chaotic time. Decided here based on nice conversations with Shanti in the tour. Withdrew our child after just six weeks, two days a week — we had a lot of issues and we found this genuinely alarming for such a short stretch.<br><br>We were told two educators are rostered on the floor at all times. We never once observed that in practice, possibly why we had so many issues. When queried with Shanti we were told that she doesn't need to be visible to parents. It's a small centre so if you're onsite you're aware of who's there watching the kids, and more to the point, to look after kids, you do need to be present and visible (its even a requirement in the regulations not to count educators if they're not actually on the floor, and you would know if an educators is on the floor, its only a two room place). When I picked our child up educator many times looked overwhelmed by herself. Not an exhaustive list but to give an idea: an unexplained facial injury never reported to us, a significant amount of sand our child had ingested that we found in bowel movement and only found out about because we raised it ourselves, soiled clothing sent home with zero handover conversation (and generally a lot of accidents for child who is toilet trained), consistently picked up and was dirty, especially hands, mouth and face (when discussed just passed off as a result of 'independence led play') and an untouched lunchbox almost every single day, never led any initiative to discuss lack of eating with us just passed off as a child being a child. Serious concerns our child was just being left unmonitored to ingest sand cause they were hungry. Was generally told when bringing these up all these issues were documented internally and discussed amongst the staff — just never actually communicated to us as parents.<br><br>Communication here is v poor. One time, we only found out the centre was closed the next day at a 4pm pickup, and only because we happened to say "see you tomorrow" — if we hadn't, no one would have told us at all.<br><br>They talk good things about policies, ratios, and procedures, but none of it matches what actually happens with your child in their care. Don't take my word for it — verify their advertised hours against what they actually operate to (ask for the parent handbook it shows they only open from 8am-5pm), and ask yourself why those don't match either. They're not actually open between their registered hours of 6am-6pm or their advertised hours of 7:30am-6pm.<br><br>Could not recommend.

We toured so many centres before finding Let’s Play and nothing ever felt quite right. I was really anxious to send my child to daycare at all. But the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt calm, warm and genuinely nurturing. For us what stands out most is how deeply the educators understand children, not just behaviour, but temperament, emotional needs, rhythm and connection. It never feels rushed, overstimulating or transactional like many larger centres can. My daughter is easily overstimulated and since starting has always been grounded at pick up and drop offs. Its been a huge relief. Since starting, our child has become more settled, confident and connected. The transition was handled with so much care and communication, and as parents we felt incredibly supported. You can truly feel that this is more than just childcare, it’s a community built with intention, love and respect for childhood. We are so grateful we found Let’s Play and honestly cannot imagine our child anywhere else.

Shanti and her team at Let’s Play Daycare have genuinely impacted our family in the most positive, grounded and nurturing way. We chose to send our little one to give him the opportunity to make friends and learn more than what he was at home. But the teachers have gone so much further than just letting the children play organically. I have personally witnessed the teachers explicit teach social cues to support my little one in being connected to a game, to forming relationships with other children and in understanding an activity. This has impacted on him greatly, as he feels supported in his activities like painting, arts, craft and will take more risks. He also loves feeling part of a friendship group and they have been the ones to support this, both in how they talk to him but also how the other children treat him with such kindness, which is so gently modelled by the teachers. I truly love the environment which has been carefully curated for little minds and hearts to thrive and to dream. Forever grateful. Thank you especially to Shanti, Sachi, Francesca and Ava for going above and beyond.

We couldn’t be happier with Let’s Play Daycare. Shanti, the owner, is truly amazing. Her kind energy and the thoughtful program she runs have made such a difference for our son Benji. He has come out of his shell in ways we didn’t expect and is genuinely thriving. It’s rare to find a place where you feel both trust and gratitude every single drop-off. We’ve had the most beautiful experience with Let’s Play Daycare over the past two years. It’s such a nurturing, calm, and genuinely warm environment—something you feel the moment you walk through the door. I love that it’s a Steiner-based setting, where the focus is on connection, creativity, and allowing the children to just be. There’s a softness and intention to everything they do, and it really shows in how settled and happy my daughter is. One of my favourite parts is the sense of community. Knowing all the other children and their families makes it feel so personal and connected—it’s not just a drop-off, it feels like an extension of our village. I also really love the seasonal celebrations and the occasional weekend activities, like apple picking. It’s showing my daughter the importance of community, friendships, and responsibility in such a natural, meaningful way. And in two years, I’ve never once had to sign an incident report, which speaks volumes about the care, attentiveness, and environment they’ve created. I feel incredibly grateful to have found this space for my daughter. It’s truly something special.

Can highly recommend Let’s Play!! The centre offers a calming and safe space for the children to play and socialise. AND, for me, what sets them apart from mainstream centres is how natural and hands-on the program is. Everything comes back to gratitude and connection to Country. I wouldn’t want my children anywhere else.

I normally don’t leave reviews, but could not be happier with Let’s Play Daycare. Teachers and staff are great. Promoting safety, learning, and an overall fun experience. All fueled by the director who I’ve met and communicated too on numerous occasions, responsive, hands on and show an absolute passion towards everything and everyone.
