Elwoodhis newly opened in April 2021, operating from 7am – 6:30pm 5 days a week (excluding public holidays). It is close to Ripponlea train station, Ormond Road shopping street, has Elwood Primary and St Kilda Primary schools within 5 minutes drive, and provides on site parking for parents in the underground car park.
Our Centre is bright and welcoming, with lots of natural light filling our specifically designed learning spaces. With tasteful colour and natural materials used throughout the Centre, families have said that it truly feels like a child’s dream room. Parents love the many purposfully built outdoor areas, which are accessible for all children within the Centre.
Our educators and leadership team create a calm and nurturing environment for all children and families.
The Elwood Nest has 3 large outdoor play areas, two on the ground level and one on the roof top where the children have sandpits, sports equipment, bikes, water play activities (on warmer days) slides, cubby houses and creative activities to explore.

The educators at The Elwood Nest believe in a play-based approach to learning, where children’s interests are fundamental to building a strong foundation for learning, development, curiosity, engagement, and happiness.
With curated programs for children aged six weeks to six years, the modern approach to childcare will feel cosy, inviting, safe and most importantly fun. Children will experience a sense of adventure as they develop new friendships and enjoy experiences that will enrich their lives. Excursions in the local neighbourhood will satisfy the desire to explore.

I am Sian, the Centre Director at Eden Academy Elwood and I helped open Eden Academy in 2021.
My passion is to assist children and staff to learn and grow in a safe, secure, and enjoyable environment. We have created a space that is open to all, where families can be free to openly express their concerns and have a sense of belonging just as their children do.
It has been a great achievement of mine to have been so lucky to have grown within this company, and to direct a centre that feels like a family.

Rigorous Recruitment & Screening - All Eden team members undergo thorough checks — including Working With Children, ID, work history, references, right to work, background, and child protection training — to ensure the highest safety standards.
Ongoing Staff Training - Our educators and leaders regularly complete professional development in child protection, identifying signs of harm, mandatory reporting, and creating safe spaces.
Clear Policies & Procedures - We have strong systems in place for reporting and responding to concerns, guided by our Child Protection Policy, Code of Conduct, and Risk Management and Incident Reporting processes.

We aim to give your child the best possible start to their school journey, which is why our Kindergarten programs are approved by the government and overseen by experienced early childhood teachers with bachelor qualifications!
In our Kindergarten program, your child will have the opportunity to learn, grow, and explore in a familiar and comfortable environment. They will be surrounded by their friends from Pre-Kindy and educators who have been with them since the beginning of their time at Eden.
For those who are new to Eden and starting Kindergarten, the well-established routines and the presence of children familiar with these routines will provide a supportive guide for your child throughout the day, making it easier for them to settle in quickly.
