My boy was at Frobel Carlton for 2.5 years from 5 months. We only moved because we needed somewhere closer to home. He has been very settled at the centre and I think he was very well cared for. It feels safe, warm, playful, and very focused on the child’s welfare. I feel the educators are happy and very engaged with their work. I would recommend this centre to any parent.

A Wonderful Start to Our Daughter's Learning Journey Our daughter has been attending Froebel Carlton since she was just 5½ months old, and we couldn't be happier with the experience. As she prepares to transition to the toddler room, we feel incredibly grateful for the foundation the educators have provided. The educators are truly exceptional. They form genuine connections and bonds with each child, taking the time to listen and respond to individual interests. It's remarkable to witness how they create an environment that can shift seamlessly from peaceful and calm to a joyful hive of activity, with children smiling and giggling with delight. The learning experiences provided are consistently engaging and thoughtfully planned. The room is always beautifully set up with interactive play opportunities that encourage exploration and development. This year's themes have included – "Marvelous Me," "Little Engineers," "Little Zoologists," and "Little Botanists," The carefully planned excursions have been another highlight, clearly making a positive impact on the children's learning and confidence. We feel fortunate to have found a center that combines excellent facilities with truly caring, skilled educators who are dedicated to nurturing every child's potential. We have recommended this center to friends who now attend any family looking for quality care and early education.

This centre is amazing. They have cared for our son so lovingly, and communicated with us so well. This has included helping organise extra supports for our son after his diagnosis with a major genetic disorder.

We have had a wonderful experience with Froebel Carlton. My baby has been attending the nursery since he was 8 months old. I’m always left with such good impressions about the quality of care when I pick my baby up for the day. The other babies and toddlers always seem happy, curious and social and it’s clear they are thriving under the care of their educators. The lead educator in the nursery is fabulous - every fortnight there’s a new learning theme and she’s always creating the most beautiful installations and activities for the children. Often in the morning I’ll come in and the toddlers are happily sitting around a table drawing the beautiful still life setting she creates. Thank you Froebel Carlton for taking such good care of our little ones.

We have been sending our son to the Froebel Carlton ELC for almost a year now. The high level of care from staff is obvious: not a pick-up or drop-off occurs without multiple members of the team telling consistent stories about how our son's day has gone, what he's been up to and who he's making friends with. Thank you Tatiana and team for helping our child grow into a confident and capable individual.

We absolutely love Froebel Carlton. Our son has been attending for about a year and we have been so impressed with the care and attention he gets. All of the staff are friendly, professional and very easy to communicate with. We receive regular updates on our child's progress and get to collaborate with the centre about his education plan. The team also runs additional community days to help the families meet each other and get to know the team better. Our son always has a big smile on his face when he is at Froebel. Highly recommended.

Both my children attend Froebel Carlton and are thriving. The educators are outstanding and very nurturing towards the children. The facilities are excellent, modern and there's even a rooftop playground and terraces for kids to spend time outside. My kids love it here and are excited to attend each day. Despite reported management issues or high staff turnover at certain points, the quality of the care has not faltered. We would have liked more Spanish immersion but I understand that it may be difficult to find quality Spanish-speaking staff to deliver on this. My daughter's kinder teachers are non-Spanish speakers but we wouldn't trade them for the world. They are outstanding in every sense and my daughter loves them dearly.

We also had a negative experience in this day care. My wife is Spanish and we are raising our child trilingual, so we thought that Froebel would be a good pick. We dropped our child for the first week and our daughter was crying a lot, which I assume is very normal. We asked the the teachers to inform us if our daughter needed any assistance. The staff told us that they would inform us if anything was wrong. A week later my wife dropped by just to check if everything was okay. She found our daughter in a corner crying and having soiled herself. My wife asked why did you not inform me? To which the staff responded that they were the verge of doing that. Which seems unlikely because EOD was approaching. Please avoid this place. Probably they will respond to this message legitimatizing all the criticism. I would just say there are way better learning centre’s

We were impressed by the learning approaches, exposure to Spanish, and the care provided by an excellent team. However, in recent months, this initial impression has given way to disillusionment as changes in the centre’s operations became apparent. Froebel’s promise of bilingual language development and high-quality care has, regrettably, remained unfulfilled for some time. What we encountered was a pattern of instability and rigidity. Staff turnover was alarmingly high, with many exceptional educators leaving under circumstances that seemed systemic. Periods of understaffing compounded this issue, creating a strained environment where children were shuffled between rooms and often confined indoors for entire days. Our daughter now struggles to name any of the educators currently caring for her. Decisions appeared driven less by the needs of the children and more by rigid adherence to policies that often fell short of the service’s stated standards. Compliance became a hollow formality, used to excuse poor experiences, eclipsing the meaningful engagement and care that should define early learning environments. Attempts to address our concerns with management were met with inconsistent, dismissive, and at times contradictory responses. Written assurances of flexibility regarding our planned departure—essential for managing a major transition—were abruptly rescinded without explanation. This left us in an untenable position as we approach the festive season, compounding stress amidst end of year deadlines and preparations. Rather than collaborating to resolve the issue, management rigidly enforced notice periods under the guise of policy, further eroding our trust. The impact Froebel Carlton and their heartless management decisions have had on our child have been deeply distressing. A once-happy and outgoing toddler now dreads attending daycare, a clear sign her needs are not being met. Educators have reported behaviors she typically exhibits when feeling ignored and understimulated, and her learning progression has noticeably stalled. Ultimately, we were forced to seek alternative care. What should have been a process marked by compassion and dialogue instead left us feeling unheard, unsupported, and disheartened. This is not merely a failure of policy but a deeper failure of priorities. Management’s reliance on excuses and rigid policies, at the expense of care and community, is at odds with the expectations of a quality childcare service. While individual educators continue to show dedication, their efforts are undermined by poor management decisions creating unnecessary tension within the community, high staff turnover and the resulting instability for children. As it stands, Froebel Carlton cannot be recommended to families seeking a nurturing and supportive environment. This decision has not been made lightly but reflects systemic issues that require substantial change. For Froebel to fulfill its potential, it must align its practices with its promises and rebuild trust within its community of families and children. Until such changes are realised, I feel compelled to withhold my recommendation and offer a clear caution to prospective families. Don't be fooled by the nice building.
