I attended this daycare centre last year both as an educator and as a parent, and I feel confident saying it’s a service that genuinely cares about children and their families. Having seen the centre from both sides, I always felt reassured leaving my daughter there because I knew exactly how committed the team was to creating a safe, nurturing environment. The educators build beautiful relationships with the children they take the time to understand each child’s personality, routines, and needs. My daughter always came home happy, settled, and full of new things she had learned. As a parent, that kind of peace of mind is priceless. From a staff perspective, I appreciated the teamwork, communication, and the way everyone supported each other to provide the best care possible. The centre maintained strong routines, followed regulations properly, and always prioritised children’s wellbeing. It’s a place where educators genuinely want to be there, and that energy flows through the whole service . And if we did not have to move away from Mackay we would’ve been still there

Horrible experience my son is shy and found it extremely hard to settle in, staffing was all over the place, drop off was a major challenge with informstion given and not passed on. Most time no one knew how his day had been. Was with them for 2 months then when he was 3 years 4 months and the new year started they moved him into the kindy room too early in my opinion and it was even worse from there. Was not a proper transition, nothing ever got done when we raised our concerns. Kim on front desk jumped down my throat after missing a phone call the next time I brought my child in. Very unprofessional behaviour all around would not recommend.

We really wanted to love Moreton Drive ELC. We wanted our child to be there until he went to Prep, but during our 7 months there, we experienced ongoing issues of a highly concerning nature and disgusting examples of unprofessionalism, culminating with Kim yelling at me for questioning incorrect billing. Our child has been left in poopy nappies until he has blistered from nappy rash; we witnessed an educator yell in his face, then drag him by the fingers across cement when he only wanted his water bottle; when we reported this incident, we were told that the security cameras haven’t been working for a while; behaviour and incident reports have been lost and when questioned, met with laughs from staff over poor systems; forms have been changed after being signed; we had 2 incidents that weren’t reported until 24 hours & 3 days later; it took 4 weeks for the billing to be corrected when we first started & I had to call each week to get it rectified (it was a centre issue. CCS had been sorted from my end); this past week I was invoiced and charged for 5 days when we only attend 4; access cards have never been given to newer families, meaning we have to press a door bell for entry; when the door bell stopped working, the door was propped open with a milk crate for over a week, which is a security concern; we have consistently been told incorrect or conflicting information from staff. It’s been a highly disappointing experience, but this final show of a complete disregard for any attempt at customer service by Kim yelling at me for questioning incorrect billing was just pitiful and unnecessary. Day care is hard to come by in Mackay, but be fully aware when accepting a place at Moreton Drive.
