About Guardian Childcare & Education Queen Street

A spacious, open plan early learning centre in Brisbane CBD, we’re proud to provide the best local childcare in Brisbane's CBD, where every child is supported to thrive.

Proud winner of the GOLD Family Choice Award 2025. As determined by our existing families rating their experience of our Centre via Family Satisfaction Survey and independent Google Reviews.

To BE Me is Guardian’s exclusive learning program – a game changer that marks a new era in early learning. It reimagines early education, giving families clear insights into how play connects to learning and development.

The Queensland Government offers funding to provide families up to 15 hours of free kindergarten a week (40 weeks per year). The funding off sets the fees for children who turn four years old by 30 June in the year before they attend primary school. This support is in addition to the Child Care Subsidy and can help to lower your out-of-pocket fees.

Our nurturing Nursery spaces are designed to help babies settle quickly, giving families comfort and confidence. Our Baby Ambassador will get to know your child’s personality, preferences and routines.

By focusing on Nutrition for Life, Guardian gives families peace of mind, knowing their children are developing habits that can set them up for a future of exposure to different foods, good eating patterns and healthy eating. Our qualified cook / chef provides 5 healthy foods every day from our in-house kitchen.

Safety and wellbeing are our highest priority, giving families peace of mind in the safe childcare we provide.

The program includes resources and tools that support learning and make it easy to see your child’s progress along Learning and Development Pathways.

Children receive their own My Learning and Development Book, which is updated regularly with their progress.

To BE Me is underpinned by Guardian’s world class teaching program that has been developed over many years of research and thousands of hours observing how children develop.

Health and Nutrition

Health and Nutrition

We believe in nutrition for life, supporting children to develop healthy eating habits from an early age. Qualified Chefs and Cooks in our centres create fresh and nutritious meals each day, using seasonal, high-quality ingredients that align with Australian Dietary Guidelines.

Meals are designed to be delicious, introduce children to diverse flavours, and make eating healthy food a positive experience.

Managing allergies and intolerances is part of how we keep mealtimes safe and enjoyable. Every child’s needs are carefully tracked, meals are supervised by permanent educators, and allergens are strictly controlled.

Beyond providing wholesome food, we use mealtimes as learning opportunities. Children practice independence by serving themselves and engaging in conversations about food, building confidence and understanding of healthy choices.

Dec, 2025

My daughter joined Guardian Childcare on Queen Street when she was 1.5 years old, and recently my son started at just 5 months. The staff here are absolutely incredible—so caring, observant, and genuinely invested in the children. One of the things that stands out most is the consistency of the team. (Proof of their great team spirit and good management) My daughter is now 4.5 years old, and my son is enjoying the same wonderful teachers who looked after his sister. That continuity means so much—I already have a great relationship with them, and it makes the transition for my son so smooth and reassuring. I’ve breastfed both my babies and spent a lot of time feeding in the mornings and at lunchtime, observing what goes on in the rooms. I can honestly say the staff are attentive, nurturing, and always engaged with the children. It’s impossible to name all the amazing teachers, the chef, and the management team—they are all gems. I also love that they have a large outdoor area that is fully covered, so the kids can spend plenty of time outside while staying sun-safe. Many other centres avoid outdoor play because of hats and sunscreen, but here the children enjoy the best of both worlds. The facilities are fantastic, the room setups change often to keep things fresh, and the staff are actively involved in those changes. Their kindergarten program and teachers are excellent, and the curriculum is amazing. Coming from Belgium, where kids start full-time school at 2.5 years old, I was initially worried about the Australian system where school starts later. But seeing what they teach at Guardian, I’m confident my children are getting a strong foundation for school. I couldn’t recommend Guardian Queen Street more highly. Just book a tour and see for yourself—you’ll feel the warmth and professionalism the moment you walk in.

Thank you, Lotte, for sharing such a thoughtful review. It’s wonderful to hear about your family’s journey and the strong, trusting relationships you’ve built with the team over the years. The consistency of educators and the sense of continuity for both of your children is something we truly value, and it means a lot to know how reassuring this has been for your family. nWe’re also glad you’ve felt confident in the care, learning environments, outdoor spaces, and kindergarten program. Your kind words about the team, facilities, and your children’s learning foundation are greatly appreciated. Thank you again for your warm recommendation.
