This should go without saying: the important role that early childhood educators play in our children’s first 1000 days and beyond. Despite this, it is still largely a thankless occupation, and the work that the Froebel St Leonards team does should be shouted from the rooftops. I can see how tired each and every one of these individuals are, especially during winter when infections are rife, yet they continue to show up for our children, day in and day out.<br><br>I was one of the parents affected by COVID. As a first-time parent with no family support, I will forever be grateful to them, as I can hand on heart say that I could not have navigated those first few years without their support, care and reassurance.<br><br>I chose the centre out of the few that I toured because I could see that, at its heart, the centre comprises educators, the chef and, of course, the admin team who are more like family than colleagues. The people in managerial positions are educators themselves and remain very close to the floor, which I think makes a real difference. They understand what is happening day to day because they are part of it, rather than being removed from the realities of caring for and educating the children.<br><br>Food is cooked on-site, and the standards of hygiene and ventilation throughout the centre have always given me great peace of mind, including with everyday routines such as nappy changes. The educators are responsive, and I can genuinely see that my child, as well as many of his friends, are well looked after by each and every educator.<br><br>They are multicultural and embrace children from all walks of life, including children with disability, allergies, eczema and other individual needs. What I particularly appreciate is that they recognise that every child is different, and every family has their own approach. Their welcoming and supportive approach even allowed me to continue breastfeeding for as long as I did, something I will always be grateful for as a first-time mother. But, of course, they cater to each and every mum’s unique approaches and choices. There is no judgement, just genuine support for what works best for each family.<br><br>Also, in today’s climate, sustainability is something we feel strongly about. We particularly loved their initiatives around STEM, excursions, the library, and book, toy and shoe swaps, and we can only imagine how many more new and brilliant initiatives have been introduced since we left.<br><br>After four years full-time, from Nursery through to Preschool, we saw how they rose to every challenge throughout the pandemic and emerged stronger than ever. We made lifelong friends with families who stayed and those who moved away, and their educators even send their own children there. That speaks volumes.<br><br>They listen, gather constructive feedback and genuinely evolve with the needs of children and parents. Their communication is timely and responsive, and they are always willing to have a conversation about the best way to address individual concerns.<br><br>We left Froebel eight months ago, but they are still so welcoming of my child whenever we are in the area. The relationship doesn’t stop at graduation. It feels organic and authentic, and it is clear that they genuinely care about you and your child.<br><br>In a world increasingly devoid of human touch, I highly recommend organising a tour or visiting one of their Open Häus and asking all the questions you have. My daughter attended the centre from 6 months to 3 years old, and it truly became her second home. The educators were always warm, caring, and genuinely invested in her wellbeing. Although she was sometimes reluctant to go in the mornings, every pick-up I found her happily playing — a reflection of how safe and loved she felt there. The team maintained excellent hygiene, especially during seasonal outbreaks, and supported us through toilet training with patience and care, which was a positive and smooth experience. They were always communicative, calling if there were any concerns, and flexible with casual and swapped days, which we deeply appreciated. Leaving is truly hard — we are so grateful for the love, support, and dedication shown to our daughter, with special thanks to Jane and Lilit, who became her closest educators of trust. We highly recommend this centre to any family seeking a caring, professional, and supportive early learning environment.

We had an excellent experience with Froebel St Leonards throughout nursery, toddlers and pre-school. Staff were exceptional throughout, and our daughter still asks after her educators and Froebel. Our son has attended Froebel for 5 months now and we couldn’t be happier with how much he has learned since he started! The focus they have on educational program is impressive, the centre is clean and organised and educators are truly passionate about the kids and believe in what they do. Healthy meals and good quality nappies are also a great addition. Very grateful for the whole staff there!

Big fan of their nursery team, especially our daughter's educator of trust, Mei! She is very passionate about what she does and has done an incredible job with our daughter's development to date. If you want your child to develop independent skills starting from an early age onwards, we'd recommend that you start them out at the nursery team here.

We loved the beautiful nursery team, but we had significant difficulties with the toddler team at FROEBEL. The communication was very poor, and our daughter frequently came home with nappy rashes. There were no efforts made to help her settle during drop-off, and we found the overall experience in the toddler room to be neglectful. It seemed that the staff did not genuinely enjoy their work environment. Lastly, there simply aren’t enough German-speaking staff members to even call this daycare bilingual.

Our son loves FROEBEL St Leonards. He started at 8 months, and the educators and centre management were really accommodating to a slow orientation period and helped both him and myself to get comfortable with the environment. He now smiles when we get in the lift, and everyone shows him so much care and affection. It's truly comforting to know that he's well looked after while I can't be with him.
