Amazing centre with caring educators, friendly reception staff, and a wonderful kitchen team. The changes made this year have really improved the overall experience as it wasn’t so great the previous year. Everyone is supportive, approachable, and genuinely invested in the children. We’re very grateful for the care they provide. I love that in the baby room, it’s compulsory for everyone to take shoes off before entering the room. I know that this was feedback given and taken on board.

We’ve had such a wonderful experience at Montessori Academy Childcare Centre Maribyrnong. My baby started at 10 months old, and the educators have been incredibly attentive and caring. They helped my baby settle in so smoothly, which gave us so much peace of mind. The centre is always clean, well-organised, and provides a calm, nurturing environment. The food menu is also fantastic—my baby absolutely loves the meals!

I have four children attending this centre, and we’ve had a wonderful experience. The centre is clean, well-organized, and has a cozy, welcoming environment. There are lots of engaging activities that keep my kids happy and learning every day. The staffs here is very kind and caring , my kids love them so much even miss them when we go on holiday. They also organize special events and celebrations, which my daughters and son really enjoy. It’s lovely to see how excited they are to participate. I’m very grateful for the care and attention the staff provide. Highly recommend this centre to other families!

Aman and Evy have made such a difference in my sons development and confidence. He has come a long away since only starting late last year. Thank you for your patience and kindness that you show these children everyday. He looks forward to seeing his teachers and his peers every single day and that's because he has a great support base that is Montessori.

This childcare is very great with all the support they put into all the children that they give when the kids are not feeling to good and the teachers are very beautiful

I am extremely disappointed with this childcare centre. There is constant staff turnover, which makes it very hard for children to form secure relationships. The centre is often understaffed, and management appears disorganised and unresponsive to concerns raised by families. Most concerning of all are the breaches in children’s safety. On more than one occasion, I witnessed or became aware of situations where adequate supervision was not provided. This is unacceptable in any early childhood setting. Child safety should always come first. Unfortunately, this centre has failed to meet basic expectations of care, supervision, and management. I would not recommend this service to other families.

My daughter has been attending since she was 8 months old, just a couple of days each week, and she is absolutely thriving. Michelle, Jason, and Emily are excellent educators — warm, professional, and genuinely caring. As a first-time parent I felt nervous about leaving her, but the team put me completely at ease and have been wonderful in supporting her development. I’m delighted with my choice of nursery and so grateful for the nurturing environment they’ve created.

UPDATE: We ended up removing our child from this centre. He’s much happier now and we’ve noticed a huge difference in how other centres communicate with parents. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I’ve waited a few years to write this review, as I wanted to give a really informed opinion. My son has been here since he was 9 months old and I have mixed feelings. First of all, it’s worth knowing that this isn’t an accredited Montessori centre (which was why I chose it, despite it being a long drive for us). I feel this isn’t adequately communicated and I only found this out through my own research. Communication has always been relatively poor; there is no app, no child folders, no personalised updates, and not even any verbal updates about your child unless you really press the staff for info. There were newsletters that came out every 2 months, which had a handful of blurry photos and a high-level summary of room activities, but these aren’t even emailed anymore, just taped to the doors. There are also parent/teacher interviews once or twice a year. But there have been a number of times where I learnt about something my child had been struggling with only AFTER the issue/behaviour had been resolved, e.g. “He’s finally speaking at childcare” or, “he’s more confident now in playing with other children”, to which I’d think, “I didn’t even know that was happening! Why did no one tell me?” My son also took a very long time to settle in here, and staff turnover is high. We’ve had 4 centre manager in 2 years. Friends of ours have removed their children due to them never settling in properly… although perhaps this happens at every childcare centre. The space, however, is beautiful. Everything is very well looked after, clean, and new. My son has learnt a lot and has beautiful manners, which I know he’s learnt from the educators as we speak a different language at home. He puts toys away, takes his shoes off indoors, has learnt his colours and other basics. The chef here, Will, is amazing, and I’m pretty sure my son eats better at childcare than at home. Overall, it’s difficult for me to recommend Montessori Beginnings for the key reason that there’s a lack of communication about my child. It’s hard enough having to leave such a young child with other people, but I feel like I’ve lost even more precious time as I know almost nothing about what he does for 8 hours each day. I think this could be a great centre, but right now it lacks warmth and connection with families. It’s a well run business, but I think most parents of little children need more than that.
