Writing this review so everyone knows how fabulous this childcare is. We couldn’t be happier with our experience at Waratah St. Our now 2.5 year old started at 4 months old and from the very first day, the director Kerrie and educators (especially Nat) took care of our baby like it was their own. I felt completely confident that she was in the best possible hands. The educators are warm, attentive, and genuinely invested in children's wellbeing and development. They have taken the time to understand our baby's personality, celebrate her milestones, and create a nurturing environment where she feels safe, valued, and excited to learn. If you are looking for a shiny, white and new centre this one may not be for you, but if you are looking for a centre that's warm, welcoming, and takes your children from strength to strength this is the place for you. Thank you Kerrie, Nat, Tash, Tainah, Angie, Etsuko, Robyn, Jenny (the cook), Jennie (from Customer Service) and anyone else I have missed. You are all truly amazing.

My son enjoyed going to Waratah Street for about 3 years or so. He is generally happy but his disappointments are handled well. The teachers supported us with my son's needs and are always approachable. Special thanks to Kerrie and Robyn for providing us feedback and strategies.

Waratah Street is a quiet, smaller-scale centre next to beautiful Gunnamatta Park. We’re a one-minute walk from Cronulla train station and close to four primary schools: Cronulla, Cronulla South, Burraneer Bay and St. Aloysius. We make great use of our beautiful local environment for the children's learning. We also engage with our community by visiting parks, library storytimes and many other local destinations.
Families love our centre’s community feel. We enjoy wonderful relationships with families and encourage their contribution to the children’s curriculum.
Our new playground is a modern, spacious and full of exciting opportunities to extend children's development. It features a sandpit with water feature, large spiderweb climbing structure, cubby house with slide, shaded reading nook for quiet time and connecting with nature, and a herb and veggie garden for our garden-to-plate program.
Environmental practices are important to us. The children love to garden and help with composting. They also harvest veggies for use in our centre meals.
Families value our creative and skilled team and the genuine care we have for the children. We want every child to feel valued and appreciated. Inclusion and diversity are at the heart of our smaller-scale centre. We meet every child’s individual needs and we warmly support parents' goals for their child. Our learning program reflects the children's voices and our team's talents. We have a passion for sustainability, cultural awareness, arts and wellbeing.
