Our high-quality, play based preschool curriculum is delivered by Bachelor qualified Early Childhood Teachers. Hi! My name is Lyn and I’m the centre director of Goodstart Kurri Kurri. I have worked in Early Childhood education for 22 years, gaining a lot of experience and knowledge along the way. I have worked in many leadership roles including Room leader and Assistant Director.
I have three children of my own and three grandchildren. I am very passionate about the early years and the importance of providing a nurturing care environment. The years leading up to Kindergarten are what shape the next 11-13 years of education. My philosophy is that learning begins at birth, and that all children should have access to high quality education and care.
Our centre is all about positive interactions with children and building on their social and emotional development. Communication is important to us and we strive to build strong relationships with our families. We understand that as a parent or carer, you play an important role in your child’s education, and we work together with you to provide the best start for your child.

Good start has been a second home for both my Children, I have watched my children make amazing and heartfelt connections with their teachers and peers, I myself have also made some great connections with the educators. The level of care is so different at this centre, the consistency of staff has stood out massively, my children have had the same educators as they started with, meaning they have been able to build trusting relationships with their educators. I comfortably drop my kids at daycare everyday, as parents, caregivers or guardians it’s a very hard feeling having to drop your kids off and walk away from them for the day but with good start and the connections that have been made I can give my kids a kiss and say goodbye confidently everyday. . As a family we love our day care centre! My son started kindergarten this year and he comments all the time about how much he misses going to “his little school”. He is still very welcomed and cared for also when he is with me on drop off and pick ups which is beautiful to see and it shows the connections that were made are real.

For any parent, choosing a childcare centre is a big step. you’re choosing somewhere to leave your favourite person while you go to work, which can feel overwhelming the team at goodstart made this seamless. Our experience at Goodstart Kurri has been really positive. The educators are wonderful caring, approachable and genuinely invested in the children. Any concerns I’ve had have always been met with understanding, support and a willingness to listen and help. It makes such a difference knowing you can speak openly and feel heard. While it’s not always smooth sailing with routines constantly changing , the team have always been supportive and willing to work through those changes with us. Our little man has settled in well and it’s clear the educators care about the children and their development. While no centre is perfect for everyone, it’s perfect for us. Overall, I’m grateful for the care they provide and the environment they create for the kids 💛
