We have had good and positive experiences with goodstart kurri, we receive at least weekly updates on their learning in their rooms, educators always give you a rundown of they day on pick up, food is provided along with charts of what they have had. They run great learning experiences and activities. The facility itself is outdated sure , though the same educators are always there for the children and their ability to do everything and anything is not compromised.

About Goodstart Early Learning Kurri Kurri

Goodstart Early Learning Kurri Kurri is conveniently located in the heart of the Kurri Kurri community, just a stone's throw from Kurri Kurri Public School and within walking distance of local shops, the library, and parks. We provide education and care for children aged six weeks to six years across five thoughtfully designed indoor learning spaces that emphasise a natural, home-like environment, fostering a sense of calm and belonging.

Our nursery caters to children aged 0-2 years, creating a safe space for exploration and growth. With consistent educators, we prioritise forming secure attachments during these crucial early years. The toddler space nurtures growing independence and social skills through guided interactions, sharing, and emotional resilience.

Our preschool rooms for 3-5-year-olds centre on learning through play while incorporating intentional teaching moments to prepare children for school. We focus on developing social skills, curiosity, problem-solving, and independent thinking.

Outdoor learning areas encourage interaction with nature, featuring sandpits, a mud pit, and garden projects that teach children about caring for the environment. Our curriculum, based on the Early Years Learning Framework, is tailored to each child's unique strengths and interests.

With a dedicated team of qualified educators, we offer high-quality early learning and care. We maintain strong community links and utilise Storypark to share your child’s learning journey with you, ensuring meaningful connections between home and the centre.

Curriculum and programs

Curriculum and programs

The educators at Goodstart Early Learning follow an evidence-based curriculum that aligns with the Early Years Learning Framework. Informed by world-leading research, practices and techniques, the curriculum encourages the children’s natural curiosity and engages them in their learning journey.

As the children move through the different rooms in the centre, the curriculum evolves with them. The educators set goals for the children and celebrate as they reach their milestones. At every stage, the educators are tailoring the curriculum and goals to each child’s individual needs.

The curriculum involves different types of learning experiences and styles. From child-led learning to sessions guided by educators, the children participate in small and large group sessions as well as individual play. Most importantly, the children learn through play, developing social skills, confidence and independence in addition to more formal academic skills.

Parent communication and involvement

Parent communication and involvement

Goodstart Early Learning uses the StoryPark app to connect with parents throughout the day. The educators upload photos and stories to the secure app, which parents can access anytime and anywhere to track their child’s progress.

The approach at the centre is very much based around partnership between families and educators. The educators work with the parents and carers to build strong relationships. They develop trust so the children can feel safe and secure while at the centre. Parents are also encouraged to share their insights and feedback with educators to add depth to the relationship.

The educators observe the children every day and tailor the program around their observations. They share these with parents, so they can feel connected to their child’s progress and also provide feedback that will further enhance their child’s learning experience.

Meet the team

Meet the team

Goodstart Early Learning employs qualified and skilled educators who are dedicated to making a difference to the children in their care. The centre employs people who are empathetic and compassionate, with a nurturing disposition and a passion for care. Working collaboratively as a team, the educators display qualities such as positivity, kindness and, most importantly, a desire to help every child thrive.

The educators hold relevant qualifications, including the Kindergarten and Preschool Program teachers who are university qualified. The educators are lifelong learners, participating in regular and ongoing professional development to enhance their skills. They are encouraged to upskill, learning about the latest research and thinking in the sector. They can then bring this knowledge back to the centre to share with their colleagues for the benefit of the children.

We’ve joined Goodstart at Kurri Kurri recently and I cannot recommend Goodstart enough! I get a great vibe from the centre, the staff are great and most importantly my child is happy when going there. It’s fantastic peace of mind knowing that my child’s in good hands.

My daughter attended this centre for 3 1/2 years and unfortunately the last 12 moths prior to us moving to another centre has been a horrendous experience. High staff turnover have had a large impact on our children there. The area manager is very unhelpful especially when there has been so many Centre Directors or lack therof in the last 12 mths. The lack of communication is huge when there are direct impacts that parents need to be aware of. I had such concerns that I made formal complaint to the Dept of Education as I felt as though Goodstart did not want to listen to my concerns.
