We have nothing but praise for Smartland Mountain Creek. The centre itself is beautiful with a great indoor/outdoor flow, the manager Lisa is very approachable and friendly, and the educators are amazing. Our daughter absolutely loves it there and we couldn’t be happier 😊

We are so impressed with Smartland Mountain creek, when we pick our granddaughter up each time she is always so happy, she has lots of wonderful stories to tell about her day. The teachers there are so welcoming and helpful, making sure we have everything we need and letting us know how her day was to pass on to her parents, you can tell her teachers really care so well for her. It’s such a beautiful place, lots of fun things to do. It’s a wonderful place for children.

Diane thank you for such beautiful words

About Smartland Early Learning Mountain Creek

We are driven to foster each child’s connection to the natural environment and help educate them on becoming ‘environmental crusaders’. We are on a journey of learning about ways to reduce our carbon footprint and how to care for our planet – this is something we are doing in partnership with children and families each day. Our team aim to have a holistic approach to learning and teaching which encourages our innate connections to the natural world and fostering each child’s love, understanding and respect of this. We are enthusiastic advocates for improving sustainability and continuously looking at ways in which we can reduce our carbon footprint, being co-learners with the children to care for our planet.

We take our children on regular excursions into the community. Our favourite places are the community garden/bush tucker garden and the Buderim recycle market. The recycle market is a valuable learning experience for the children to see where unwanted items go to be sorted into landfill, recycling or reuse/re-sale. (National Quality Standard: 3.3.1 - Educators and children work together to learn about and promote the sustainable use of resources and to develop and implement sustainable practices). Getting our children out and about in the local community is lifelong learning about being a part of something bigger and how the children can contribute and participate in the world around them. Our local community love seeing us at the market and gardens with many commenting how great it is to see 'our future' (the children) being educated in such a meaningful, responsible and engaging way.

Our team are also on a journey of embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures respectfully and appropriately throughout our service and daily routines. We want to support our little people to learn about Australia's cultural heritage and be proud of our country's first people and the amazing knowledge they have to share. This is something that we are passionate about and share our learning with the families as we do our part to move towards reconciliation for the future. We believe to create true generational change we must focus our future aspirations on the early years and role model these attitudes and beliefs to our children so they can grow into empowered, confident and empathetic decision makers for our future. The first 5 years is where children begin to form their identities, morals and beliefs to last a lifetime. This is the learning we give your children at Mountain Creek - we are supporting our little friends to be world-wise and responsible citizens for today – not just tomorrow!
