We couldn’t be happier with our experience at Goodstart Nelson Bay. The care, support and kindness the educators have shown our son while helping him settle in has been absolutely amazing. They have gone above and beyond to make him feel safe, comfortable and happy, and it has made such a difference for our family. All of the staff are so friendly, welcoming and genuinely caring. Kyle and Kristie are absolutely amazing, and Hilita was so beautiful and gentle with Louie while he was settling in. It was incredibly reassuring to see how much patience, care and understanding they showed him during such a big transition. Rosie, the director, is incredibly approachable and supportive, and Louie absolutely adores her and all the staff. We are so grateful to have found such a wonderful preschool and highly recommend Goodstart Nelson Bay to any family looking for a caring and supportive environment for their child.

My son spent the last three years of his life at this centre, and I could not be more grateful for the love, care and support he received every single day. The entire team is incredibly caring, patient and dedicated to the children’s wellbeing. I still remember when I first arrived in Nelson Bay to work as a GP — I was welcomed so warmly by Mandy, and that kindness set the tone for everything that followed. From that moment, I knew my child was in the right place. A heartfelt thank you to Rosie, an amazing director whose support came exactly when my son needed it most. Her care was essential in helping him grow into a confident, kind little human. To Kathryn, Marta, Tara and Tara, Ginni, Hillita, Shatelle, Lena, and all the other wonderful teachers whose names I may not remember but whose impact I will never forget — thank you. Your patience, encouragement and love have shaped my son in the most beautiful way. I am forever grateful for every hug, every lesson, every moment of support. We love you all, and Goodstart Nelson Bay will always have a special place in our hearts. 💛

I am a family member of an existing current family, who have had nothing but terrible ongoing issues with the service.

Our daughter’s thriving—more words, more independence, and always comes home smiling (or covered in paint… usually both). The staff are absolute pros. Friendly, switched on, and clearly know how to keep a room full of toddlers learning and happy. No complaints from us. Highly recommend.

We absolutely loved sending our three kids here! Watching them grow up, develop their best skills, and learn so many new things thanks to the amazing team of teachers has been such a joy. Ginny took care of our kids for three years, and they still remember her fondly. Even though we’ve moved far away now, the daycare and the wonderful teachers are still a big part of our children’s memories. Every time we talk about those early years, they light up with stories of the great experiences they had here. We’re so grateful for the care and love they received.

My 3 year old has gone to Goodstart Nelson Bay since he was 6 months. I have consistently felt supported and welcomed by his educators. I can't fault the Kindy staff (and those he has had along the way) and centre director Rosie, in the quality of care and early education they provide my son.

My son goes to good start and they are amazing they treat my son like there own! So caring and kind. They have taught him so much I really can’t fault the school they are amazing!

Cannot speak highly enough of the team at Goodstart. They look after my son as if he was their own and I leave each morning with complete trust that he is ok and happy which as a mother is huge!
