Conveniently located at 625 Bridge Inn Road, directly opposite Mernda Train Station and Mernda Town Centre, the centre provides an accessible option for families in Mernda, Doreen, South Morang and surrounding areas.
We offer long day care and funded kindergarten for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years, delivered by qualified early childhood teachers. Our approach combines a nurturing environment with a structured, research informed program that supports confidence, independence and school readiness.
Drawing on world leading early education practices inspired by the Finnish model, we create engaging learning experiences that build strong foundations in literacy, numeracy and social development.

After having my daughter attend an organisation that claimed it was all about Child Safety and seeing anything but that, I was reluctant to enrol her in another centre. However, after hearing about the extensive onboarding processes for employees I decided to give North Star a chance. Not only has my daughter gone to care with a smile on her face for the first time ever (I don't need to feel that terrible dad guilt of her crying as I leave), but I pick her up and she doesn't want to leave, showing me the amazing things she's done that day. It's done wonders for her confidence and her wellbeing. The staff truly care. Maria is excellent for anyone looking for someone to care for their baby, and Denise, Emma and Alison are exceptional with the children - they have so much patience. Go and tour them, now that they're finally open! You won't be disappointed.

We couldn't be happier with our experience at North Star Mernda. From the moment we joined, Maria and Rosie have been incredibly welcoming, supportive, and genuinely invested in our son's wellbeing. As parents, it means so much to know your child is in a caring environment, and they have made us feel comfortable and confident from day one. What has stood out most is their attention to detail and communication. The updates throughout the day are amazing, and it's clear they take the time to really get to know each child and their individual needs. We always feel informed, included, and reassured that our son is receiving the best possible care. The warmth, professionalism, and genuine care shown by the team have made such a positive difference to our family. We are so grateful to Maria, Rosie, and the entire team for creating such a nurturing and welcoming environment.
