We transferred our daughter from another local daycare to Ekidna and it has genuinely been the best decision! The staff are phenomenal and in over a year we haven’t seen any classroom leadership turnover. This has resulted in my daughters developing strong bonds with both the carers and the children at the centre. My youngest in nursery waves farewell and runs off to play 😅 they are always looking for parent feedback and ways to improve their programs, we have been thoroughly impressed. Although some neighbouring centres might have flashier equipment, it’s the carers that make the difference for the kids and the experience they have. Their open ended imaginative and messy play is top notch, and as they move to prep school readiness comes into play without dominating the kids getting to be kids. Highly recommend Ekidna for both little ones and prep aged kids

Ekidna is a great centre. We have been really happy since starting there around a month ago. My son settled in quickly and the care and communication has been great. He loves going and drop offs have been super easy. Would recommend.

The staff were incredibly knowledgeable and attentive, ensuring that every aspect of my visit was nothing short of exceptional. The facility itself is modern, clean, and inviting. Whether you're looking for top-notch child care, educational programs, or just a friendly community environment, EKIDNA excels in every area.

Awful experience in the 3 months our 1 year old attended the center. Multiple reasons: - 1. Irregular staff meaning no idea on sleep times and no consistency in care 2. Regular phone calls requesting to pick up baby due to suspected COVID symptoms with each time proving negative but excluded for 48 hours meaning loss of time & money 3. No consistency in using the app for photos / updates 4. Complete lack of empathy to our situation and pressure they are placing on us when excluding our child from daycare due to fake symptoms 5. Worst example was a phone call suggesting our child was having difficulty breathing. In place of calling a paramedic they called us. This is our 2nd child and by far the worst childcare center we have encountered. Highly recommend Little Scribblers in Brookvale as an alternative which our first child attended during the height of COVID where we experienced none of the issues above.

I am extremely pleased with EKIDNA daycare. The staff are highly professional, nurturing, and genuinely caring towards all the children. The facilities are well-maintained and provide a safe and stimulating environment for learning and play, with daily activities that are thoughtfully planned. The emotional and intellectual development of all the children is a high priority and it shows. The communication between the staff and parents is excellent, keeping us informed about progress and any updates. I couldn't be happier with the quality of care and education received at this daycare.

My son has recently graduated from Ekidna, after attending the centre for the last 3 years. He has always been a shy and sensitive child, but was cared for so well that he developed beautiful relationships with educators from his room, as well as ones from other rooms during outdoor play. He was very comfortable and confident by the end of his time there. The daily photos and notes on what the children had learnt that day were interesting and thoughtful. The mid year and end of year developmental reports were very detailed, and have so much thought put into them. Whilst the children would have a general learning topic for a week or two, the specific topic would change daily, and allowed for such a broad spectrum of knowledge gained. The educators were also flexible enough to allow room to focus on children's interests at the time, and delve into topics they enjoyed. I loved the centre's focus on sustainability. It is an incredibly important area for me, and it was a constant focus for the children throughout the year. My son learnt a lot in this area, and has developed an important sense of community and planet. I can't fault the care that he received at his time at the centre. I was in tears on our last day and was so sad we were leaving them for big school!

Early Childhood holds such an important place within a child’s life. The Educators at EKidna value the importance of play, developing a child’s social skills along with building the much needed confidence to move through this journey in time… My daughter started her early education journey with the team when she was 5.5months, this was a hard time to make the decision to go back to work or spend quality time together. In the reality of life, living where we do on the northern beaches the bills needed to be paid. The hardest year in childcare is the first year of kindy, full of sickness, stress & mum guilt although we got through this in partnership with the educators and team. Yes, we had our ups & downs and no one is perfect although we got through it together. Communication is so important and the team are ALWAYS willing to listen, take on feedback & information to support them as educators to focus on her individual needs. Many of the educators go above and beyond, working 10hour shifts then going home to their own families to give even more love… they observe, they plan, they reflect, they research, they implement meaningful learning experiences much of which this is done in there own time… yes educators are not expected but they just do it… to make there days run more smoothly, holding value of BEING in their highest regard of having to ability to BE with the children in their environment. To have an educator watch over while they explore there world is gold in itself, by knowing the child is being watch at all times is amazing in itself… As a parent, how hard is it to focus on your own child at all times without getting distracted or doing jobs, writing an email ect…. Mummy can you do this… while cooking dinner… Well this is what the team do best they are the hands on her circle of security. Letting her go and BEING there, returning on the circle when she needs it. Now into her preschool years the educators are a part of our village of family. I couldn’t have gotten to this stage without each and everyone of them because in a team everyone plays a part… If you want to build a village with a loving, caring community for you & your child this is definitely the choice for you… Not every service is right for every child… Not every child is right for every service… Every child & their family are different, Although in saying this, it has definitely been the right choice for my family. I couldn’t be happier or more confident with our choice to choose EKidna.

Ekidna has been great for our 18 month daughter. She has attended since 8 months old and we are so comfortable with her attending this great centre. The staff are amazing and always greet us with a smile and are so welcoming. We are always informed of what we need to know and they are easily contactable during the day if needed.
