Incredibly lucky. That's how I feel that my child has been able to attend this centre. It was quite difficult to get a spot but we did and we've never looked back.

My child commenced shortly after their first birthday and has now transitioned through 3 rooms, and in each we've had simply wonderful educators and support staff who appear to genuinely care about the children. Whenever we've had a need arise from a developmental shift they've helped address it.

Led by a wonderful Centre Coordinator for whom no ask appears to be too great, the wonderful staff (from admin, kitchen, to room) cater to every child. Their care and love for the children is palpable, and leaving when the time comes will be very difficult.

Particular things I've noticed that are different to other places we toured/friends are at:
- The staff stay for a long time, the turnover seems to be really low. This indicates the staff are well treated, and benefits your child as they build strong relationships.
- There are permanent casual staff, meaning that when people go on leave/are ill etc, friendly faces are filling in. Sometimes they too get sick/go on leave, in which case additional friendly faces from the broader council cohort fill in. But they too are recognisable. This truly helps children to be relaxed.
- The care is tailored to the age and needs of the children.
- It's not just care, it's also education. The educators are actively engaging children in play-based learning opportunities from the earlier age.
- There is a constant investment in the resources available and in keeping the centre clean and well-maintained.
- The set up and staffing of the rooms makes it very difficult for a child to ever NOT be seen by multiple staff, which minimises safety concerns.
- The admin staff are wonderfully helpful and patient.
- The meals provided are clearly wholesome, and they change them each season, it is not pasta on repeat. They also share the recipes and you can see them making things up each day. They also have very clear systems for children with allergies.
- The door to the garden is always open (unless it is literally teeming with rain) and, while bugs are unavoidable with little folks who put their hands in their mouths, this reduces the incidence of illness. It also means children are encouraged to engage with nature.
- They have an intergenerational program for 3 and up.
- They have incursions (music, animals, etc).

So, tour it, put your name down on the waitlist, and when Anna says she can only offer you the one day of the week you don't need but that accepting it will almost certainly lead to other days. Believe her! ;)

Did I mention, we will be very sad to leave?!?!
