We have attended 2 other centres before finding Childs Play Point Cook & we couldn’t be happier. Our son is thriving and loves the centre environment and learning structure as well as the beautiful relationships he has built with other children & all of the centre staff. The educators are extremely attentive, caring & passionate about their roles and you can trust that your child is in the best care possible. Would highly recommend - you won’t find better care! 😊

Centre philosophy

Centre philosophy

At Child’s Play ELC, our philosophy is simple: every child matters. We believe each child is unique, capable and deserving of care, respect and opportunities to thrive. Our centres are guided by values of inclusion, belonging, kindness and respect, creating a place where families feel supported and children feel at home.

As immigrants from the UK, our founders Sam and Ian Johnson came to see childcare as an extension of family. After many years working in education, they dreamed of creating their own centres where children are truly nurtured and families feel deeply connected. That vision lives on today, in welcoming spaces that feel like a second home and give every child the chance to grow into a confident, compassionate learner.

About the Curriculum

About the Curriculum

Our curriculum is inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, which sees every child as curious, capable and full of potential. We focus on seven key areas of learning, including literacy, numeracy, creativity, wellbeing, social and emotional development. This balance helps children build confidence and skills for both school and life.

Learning happens through play, real-world experiences and meaningful connections with others. Our educators listen to children’s ideas and guide their learning in ways that reflect their interests and cultural background. This creates a program that feels fun and engaging while also supporting each child to grow into a confident and compassionate individual.

Kindergarten/Preschool Programs

Kindergarten/Preschool Programs

Our kindergarten program is led by qualified kindergarten teachers who guide children through a rich, play-based curriculum inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach. With a strong focus on school readiness, we help children grow in confidence, independence and a love of learning.

Alongside literacy, numeracy and creativity, we celebrate the little milestones that make a big difference: putting on jackets, packing bags and caring for belongings. These everyday achievements, supported by our caring teachers, give children the skills and self-assurance they need to step into school with excitement and pride.

Health and Nutrition

Health and Nutrition

We know healthy food fuels happy learning. That’s why our in-house chefs prepare fresh, seasonal meals and snacks daily, designed to give children the nutrients they need to grow and thrive.

Our meals are as diverse as the little learners we serve, featuring a variety of cuisines, including Mexican, Italian, Indian, and classic Australian dishes. Plus, we’re flexible – adjusting our menu based on children’s needs and preferences, making mealtimes a truly delightful experience.

My children absolutely adore their educators! They get excited every day when we pull up in the car park. My big boy calls his educators his best friends!
