Children from 6 weeks up to 6 years are cared for by dedicated, passionate educators from 6.30 am - 6.30 pm. Outside in the shady playgrounds, children have plenty of room to run around, dig in the sandpit, or climb on the brand new equipment.
The children enjoy meals and snacks which are all developed by a nutritionist and prepared on-site daily. Niño ELA Montmorency is passionate about building healthy habits from a young age, encouraging the kids to help grow and pick veggies from the centre’s garden.
The centre itself is close to nature, as it backs onto Montmorency Park and the Plenty River Trail. It’s just two minutes’ drive from both the Lower Plenty Primary School and Montmorency Primary Schools; and three minutes from Montmorency Train Station.
Children are encouraged to help plant and harvest food from the communal garden, share meals with their friends, and reduce their food waste by composting their scraps.
Niño ELA Montmorency’s Nutritional Ambassador, DLauren Burns, is an Olympic gold medallist and a leading nutritionist who shares the centre’s passion for building healthy eating habits for life.
In collaboration with their in-house chefs, Lauren has developed a fresh, seasonally influenced and nutritionally balanced menu that tastes great and enhances wellbeing. All food is cooked onsite daily and is adjusted for individual dietary requirements. It’s not only healthy, it’s food they’ll love to eat.
Think waffles, muffins, toast and cereal for breakfast; crumbed fish or pasta bake for lunch; vegetable dip, yoghurt, wholesome cakes and seasonal fruit for snacks. Children are offered progressive meals which demonstrate respect for children's choices, offering them the flexibility to decide when to join the table for their meal.

Inquisitive and busy toddlers are nurtured and empowered by Niño ELA Montmorency’s qualified educators, giving the children a sense of ownership of their learning.
The toddler program encourages discovery, mastery and self-regulation to inspire a love of learning and a desire to explore and create. The educators work in collaboration with families on key milestones during this action-packed developmental stage, such as toilet training and independence at mealtimes.
As the children grow, they move into Niño ELA Montmorency’s kindergarten program to prepare them for the next stage of their life at ‘big school.’
Led by a Bachelor Qualified Teacher and a Diploma Qualified Educator, the 3 year old program is designed to help build confidence, a sense of belonging and a love of adventure. They find out what makes your child tick, what gets them excited, and factor this into their play.
In the 4 year old kindergarten program, a Bachelor Qualified Teacher and a Diploma Qualified Educator prepare individualised experiences depending on the interests of the child. They encourage them to take part in activities that they are likely to experience in primary school.
Morning
Jack is seven months old and loves story time at Niño ELA. He sits with his favourite educator while she reads stories in a small group. Soon he is going to head off for a nap, under the watchful eye of his educator.
Lunch
Jack enjoys some outdoor play after his nap, and heads straight for the age-appropriate climbing equipment to pull himself up. His educator supports him to try standing up while holding onto the ladders.
Afternoon
The educators in the nursery room lead the children in some singing and rhymes after lunch. Jack loves music and gets involved, clapping and smiling along.
Morning
Maddy is almost two years old and loves playing outside in the sandpit. Today she and her friend Ava are sitting with an educator who has set them up with some buckets, spades and watering cans to play with.
Lunch
Maddy goes out to the vegetable garden with two of her friends and an educator. They are going to pick some tomatoes and basil and take them into the chef to use for lunch.
Afternoon
The educators have set Maddy up with paints and an easel so that she can paint a picture. She puts on her art smock and chooses her favourite colours. Red for the sky? Why not!
Morning
Bennett has just turned three and attends Niño ELA three times per week. He has made some lovely friends here and they start their day with some dressing up. Bennett decides to be a pirate, while the others choose superheroes and a lion costume.
Lunch
The educators have set up a numeracy activity for Bennett, and he is using the interactive whiteboard to match numbers to pictures. Soon it’s someone else’s turn and Bennett sits on the mat to watch and learn.
Afternoon
Bennett and the other pre-schoolers are heading out to enjoy some nature play this afternoon, as the centre backs onto a nature reserve. He collects sticks, looks for fish in the river, and climbs some trees.
