Parent communication and involvement

Parent communication and involvement

The centre has built a community that values children, respects their rights, hears their voices and prepares them for life readiness. It recognises parents as the primary educators and caregivers of children, and understands the importance of developing and maintaining collaborative and open partnerships with families.

Families are invited to participate in programs, policies, procedures and events. The centre has an 'open-door policy' and parents are welcome to call or visit their child during the day, and to speak to educators about children’s interests, needs, activities and progress.

Throughout the year, the centre holds various events and loves families to visit the centre and join in on these special occasions.

About the curriculum

About the curriculum

At the core of the centre curriculum is the belief that every child is an individual, whose needs, interests and family values must be respected and nurtured. Using the Early Year's Learning Framework, the centre has created an age-specific curriculum that responds to a child’s unique nature, interests, culture and innate sense of curiosity.

Puggle Children - 12 months and Walking

The Nursery room is a happy and safe environment where educators develop trusting, supportive relationships with children and families. Educators focus on helping babies learn basic language skills and social skills, including how to interact with other children and educators, and work closely with children to explore their interests and needs. This then helps guide planned experiences, daily routines and events.

Caterpillar Children: 2 to 3 years

In the Caterpillar group, a team of vibrant, enthusiastic and nurturing educators encourage children to step outside of their comfort zone and gently challenge their ever developing skills. Utilising the Early Learning Years Framework, the team fosters self-help skills in an exciting and stimulating environment, whilst ensuring all children feel safe, calm and secure.

Butterfly group: 3 to 5 years

The Butterfly program is structured around children's interests, helping them develop concepts, question and investigate, using families and key events from children's lives as starting points. The curriculum at this age includes a strategic school readiness program that spans the fundamentals of learning in preparation for preschool.

Educators integrate language, mathematics, science, and technology into the children's everyday learning, ensuring they are more than equipped with the skills and confidence to communicate with teachers and peers for a smooth transition into kindergarten.

We absolutely love Wind in the Willows! The educators are so caring, patient and genuinely invested in the children’s growth and wellbeing. Our little one has thrived here - learning so much, making great little friends and coming home happy every single day. The communication from the team is excellent and it always feels like a true community. Couldn’t recommend them more highly! Thank you for being just a big and important part of our lives! We’ve had such a positive experience - and can’t wait to send our next child here too!

Best daycare for my 3 grandchildren Ethan, Angelina and Zander. All the educators are so lovely and you couldn’t ask for anymore from them. I love how it’s a small family run business and that the educators have been there for a long time. We have built a nice rapport with them and makes my grandchildren, daughter, her partner and myself feel at ease at drop off knowing they are in the best hands. Also great communication at pick up about their day etc. Thank you so much for the wonderful care you provide for them!
