Choosing a childcare is/has to be one of the most difficult choices a parent needs to make. I am a firm believer in first impressions count and I knew from day dot that my son would be in good hands at Vattana. As soon as we stepped foot into the door, Julie and her team of educators were so warm and welcoming. Even after almost a year and half, they continue to be sweetest and most caring team. I like to describe it as a close-knit family/community, where I can confidently say that all the educators KNOW your child and their little habits. You’re not made to feel like you’re just a number in the system. Julie and team genuinely care and want to ensure the kids are well looked after. My son has built such a strong connection with all the educators at the centre, I know he absolutely loves Vattana and has the best time with everyone there. Honestly, this gives my husband and I absolute peace of mind when we drop him off as we know he thrives and is in good hands. Starting childcare is an extremely difficult time for families, but the level of commitment to ensure that my son (and myself/husband) were supported and had a positive experience was outstanding. The educators at Vattana always went that extra mile to make sure my son felt comfortable and safe and that gave me so much relief knowing he was well taken care of.

I think another important thing I want to add is how much of an impact all the educators have had on my child’s development. They all work so closely alongside families to ensure that all the children’s needs are met. My husband and I are constantly taken aback by how much growth our son has demonstrated over the past year and a half, since starting childcare. I acknowledge that children inevitably will learn things at their own pace, especially at this age where they’re like sponges and absorb all and everything around them. But children require the proper tools, guidance and knowledge in order to thrive. And that’s exactly what Vattana provides. Their activities and programs that are offered is intentional and well thought out. Not only that, they’re so engaging and hands-on. My son absolutely loves taking part in all the activities his educators set up. He’ll often replicate these activities or games he plays with his class when he comes home. That to me speaks volumes!

On a final note, I just wanted to take this time to thank all the educators at Vattana from the bottom of my heart. Thank you for welcoming us with open arms and ensuring that all our children are cared for like family. We see the hard work you put in and hope you know how much all the families appreciate all that you do. A HUGE shout out to Julie (centre director), Ms Celena, Ms Celine, Ms Hyein, Co Kim, Ms Jenna, Ms Julie, Ms Kayley, Ms Kimmy, Ms Nellie, Ms Phuong and Ms Uyen. Thank you for being the best educators one could hope for!

About the Curriculum

About the Curriculum

“Let the child be the scriptwriter, director and the actor in their own play” - Magda Gerber

Nursery Space: 6 weeks – 2 years

Learning starts from before birth, and our Educators have created a welcoming and nurturing nursery environment where each baby feels safe to explore and discover new things - through their senses, their communication and cues (body language, facial expression and sounds) and through experimentation. On any given day you can see the nursery children engaging in all types of play including sensory play, music time, story time and more. Every day provides a brand new, exciting adventure for our babies to support their development, learning and wellbeing.

Toddler Space: 2 - 3 years

Our teachers and educators encourage the children to learn through play to help enhance their sensory-motor development. This happens through carefully planned music, dance, games, role playing and reading experiences.

On any given day the Toddlers can be seen developing their numeracy by building a tower, sorting objects, pointing and identifying shapes and patterns and participating in counting songs and games.

Children in our toddler space are encouraged to participate in group play. Group play is important as it helps our toddlers develop important social skills such as, turn-taking, developing self-confidence and emotional self-regulation. Our skilled team helps children through talking, planning and role modelling.

Preschool Space: 3 – 6 years

Preschool is a unique time for learning with peers and developing skills for later learning including confidence and curiosity, important skills for starting school. Our play-based program has school readiness at its core, encouraging active engagement in learning and supporting a range of positive developmental outcomes including resilience, independence, critical thinking and creativity.

The oral language supports literacy learning and a child’s oral language ability is the best predictor for later success in learning to read and write. Hearing the sounds within a language is the first critical step for all literacy learning. Our team supports our Preschool children's literacy development by engaging in rich discussions, reading, storytelling, dramatic play and experimentation all of which introduce new vocabulary as part of everyday conversations.

Throughout the Preschool year, children use their language to share ideas, ask questions, express themselves, and connect with peers and adults in social settings.

Social-emotional skills, including the ability to self-regulate emotions, are supported through group learning experiences. Our team supports each child’s social and emotional development by labelling and talking about emotions and supporting appropriate responses as together, they engage in new and challenging situations. Our goal in the Preschool year is to prepare children and families for a smooth transition to primary school.

Health and Nutrition

Health and Nutrition

Our centre chef prepares and cooks nutritious meals daily, catering to the unique dietary requirements of every child. We believe that by encouraging active participation (such as growing their own fruit and vegetables, preparing, and finally cooking!) children learn to appreciate and understand the importance of healthy eating across a wide variety of food.

Our centre offers seasonal whole food-based menus – created to delight the fussiest eaters.

Meet the team

Meet the team

Hi my name is Julie, and I am the Centre Manager here at Vattana Early Learning Centre. I have been working in the early learning sector since 2009. I joined the team at Vattana Early Learning Centre in 2018. I hold a Bachelor of Teaching (Birth to 5 years old). Before becoming a centre manager, I was a room leader and had experience with all age groups of children.

I have worked closely with all age groups, and I love watching how each child grows up into beautiful, caring and smart individuals. I love knowing that every time I come to work, I make a difference in children’s lives, which makes this job so rewarding.

I am passionate about early childhood and committed to providing a high-quality service to my community. I feel my role as an educator is to provide an enriching and stimulating environment and design play-based programs that help children meet their developmental milestones. My teaching philosophy is guided by children’s interests and family input.

Children learn by interacting with educators and their peers, so being in a dedicated early learning environment really helps the development of their social skills. They learn how to get involved, play in groups, and become more confident in group settings. They also learn how to share and take a turn. Here at Vattana, we also work hard to develop children’s self-help skills further in order to set them up for kindergarten.

Our team here at Vattana are passionate about creating a centre that is a home away from home for both families and children. Our educators believe learning is a life-long process for not only the children but also our educators. On-going education, training and reflective practice are the keys to constantly maintaining a high-quality service.

We acknowledge that the family is the most powerful influence on each child’s life and that children benefit the most when we partner with families. We support our families by keeping them involved in children’s learning progress through our family app and daily communications. We host events throughout the year such as our Easter parade, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and our annual Christmas party. I believe strong communication is key to success.

I can’t wait to welcome your family into our Vattana community.
