We have been attending Kindy Patch Chelsea since July 2024, when our little one turned one, and I honestly cannot speak highly enough of this centre. When we were touring centres, Kindy Patch immediately stood out. The staff were knowledgeable, friendly and the children all looked genuinely happy and well cared for. It quickly became our top choice. As first time daycare parents, we were quite anxious about sending our little Mr, especially since he had never spent any time away from family before. Thanks to the incredibly caring educators, he settled in so easily. Within just a few weeks, he was walking in with a smile. He has always been comforted, cuddled and supported whenever needed, and that level of care has meant the world to us. He absolutely loves going to daycare now, and the peace of mind this gives us is priceless. We really appreciate the updates through the app, especially the photos, which help us feel connected to his day even while we are at work. The educators have played such a huge role in his happiness and confidence, and we are genuinely grateful for the team. It is a warm, safe and positive environment and we highly recommend Kindy Patch Chelsea to any family considering care.

About the Curriculum

About the Curriculum

“Let the child be the scriptwriter, director and the actor in their own play” - Magda Gerber

Nursery Space: 6 weeks – 2 years

Learning starts from before birth, and our Educators have created a welcoming and nurturing nursery environment where each baby feels safe to explore and discover new things - through their senses, their communication and cues (body language, facial expression and sounds) and through experimentation. On any given day you can see the nursery children engaging in all types of play including sensory play, music time, story time and more. Every day provides a brand new, exciting adventure for our babies to support their development, learning and wellbeing.

Toddler Space: 2 - 3 years

Our teachers and educators encourage the children to learn through play to help enhance their sensory-motor development. This happens through carefully planned music, dance, games, role playing and reading experiences.

On any given day the Toddlers can be seen developing their numeracy by building a tower, sorting objects, pointing and identifying shapes and patterns and participating in counting songs and games.

Children in our toddler space are encouraged to participate in group play. Group play is important as it helps our toddlers develop important social skills such as, turn-taking, developing self-confidence and emotional self-regulation. Our skilled team helps children through talking, planning and role modelling.

Kindergarten Space: 3 – 6 years

Kindergarten is a unique time for learning with peers and developing skills for later learning including confidence and curiosity, important skills for starting school. Our play-based program has school readiness at its core, encouraging active engagement in learning and supporting a range of positive developmental outcomes including resilience, independence, critical thinking and creativity.

The oral language supports literacy learning and a child’s oral language ability is the best predictor for later success in learning to read and write. Hearing the sounds within a language is the first critical step for all literacy learning. Our team supports our Kindergarten children's literacy development by engaging in rich discussions, reading, storytelling, dramatic play and experimentation all of which introduce new vocabulary as part of everyday conversations.

Throughout the Kindergarten year, children use their language to share ideas, ask questions, express themselves, and connect with peers and adults in social settings.

Social-emotional skills, including the ability to self-regulate emotions, are supported through group learning experiences. Our team supports each child’s social and emotional development by labelling and talking about emotions and supporting appropriate responses as together, they engage in new and challenging situations. Our goal in the Kindergarten year is to prepare children and families for a smooth transition to primary school.

Health and Nutrition

Health and Nutrition

Our centre chef prepares and cooks nutritious meals daily, catering to the unique dietary requirements of every child. We believe that by encouraging active participation (such as growing their own fruit and vegetables, preparing, and finally cooking!) children learn to appreciate and understand the importance of healthy eating across a wide variety of food.

Our centre offers seasonal whole food-based menus – created to delight the fussiest eaters.

I have always loved working with children. I love being a part of a family’s early learning journey and making a difference in children’s lives. I am dedicated to creating a safe and nurturing environment for children to play, learn, and thrive holistically. I believe that it’s important for children to learn through play and to have fun.

It’s important for children to be engaged in an Early Childhood Education program that supports them in developing lifelong skills that will help them with the transition into school and give them the best start to life. We have a long-standing team at Kindy Patch Chelsea. Our team is passionate about providing quality care built upon years of experience, passion for working with children and working alongside families to provide the best possible start for our small friends.

I believe it’s important to build a respectful relationship with families, to assist in supporting children in their Early Childhood journey. We have an open-door policy and we love families’ feedback and suggestions. I am always available to support our families as much as I possibly can.

Both of our boys went to Kindy Patch Chelsea from ages 1 to 5 years old until they started their schools. Both of them had amazing time at Kindy Patch Chelsea - formed wonderful connections and relationships with educators, and also numerous great friendships with other children. The entire team including educators, room leaders, centre managers, cooking staffs, are all so caring, friendly and supportive - we felt completely comfortable and safe having their great care for our boys there. We have so many unforgettable countless memories - mothers' & fathers' day, Christmas parties, graduations, etc. and kids coming back home with big smiles - that says a lot. I think one of the special things about Kindy Patch Chelsea is the coziness - staffs and families stay so that you know them very well and we're forever grateful for the support, love and bonds that we received and formed over the years. All four of us will miss Kindy Patch Chelsea!!

I chose Kindy Patch for my son as it was so welcoming and uncluttered. So many other centers are messy, overwhelming and loud. My son needed something a little more sensory friendly, and this place was perfect. They go out of their way to cater to his needs, physically and mentally. Wether it's special dietary requirements or quite time. The staff are super friendly, they always welcome you as you walk in, even staff from other rooms know my sons name and actively engage with him. They are willing to answer any questions and if they don't know the answer they will find out. Can't recommend enough, especially to families with special needs children.

Response from the owner 24 Nov 2025

Hi Wulf, What a wonderful 5-star review! We're so happy to hear that our team's warmth and dedication made such a positive impact on your son's experience by providing a sense of calm and structure at our centre. We strive to create a nurturing and supportive space as we believe that understanding each child's needs is key to quality care and education. Thank you for being a part of our early learning community, your kind words encourage us to continue offering the best for our children. Warm regards, The Kindy Patch Team
