So my son went to daycare Monday got home that afternoon is now sick . Woke up at 12.55 am Thursday showing signs of the cold - very hot to stuff cough and a runny nose . They allow sick kids but as soon as my son is sick its can you come pick up braxton his sick but they won't tell other parents not to sent their kids when there sick . The staff are lovely dont get me wrong but they allow sick kids come to daycare. Wish they would stop allowing sick kids at the centre.

My son has been going there since he was 1, full time hours, sense of relief leaving him there with the amazing staff, treat the kids with such kindness. Also the effect put in by the kitchen to meet all children's dietary/allergies requirements.

My 2 children went to this pre-school easily the best pre-school On the Central Coast.

My friends little boy comes home with sore eyes and a very red bum and sometimes bleeding

They have a few good teachers. But after being told teachers dont rotate much this is false. If child is hurt and has a cut or bruise there is no written incident report and they ask what happened and sorry. After 6mnths my child would still cry and not want to go to school. After changing my daughter is happy and now asks to stay longer at her new school and has blossemed alot. I would not send a child here

I have had two children go through from the 2-3 room to the preschool room Love it. Teachers are so approachable and so many happy kids!

We moved our daughter from another childcare centre to Goodstart Tumbi Umbi just before she was 2 years. She's now 4 and it was the best decision for her care. The staff are always so welcoming and approachable. The rooms are set up with lots of various activities to cater for the interests of all the children. The outside space is HUGE and full of so many different spaces, equipment and activities. There is always plenty of staff for the number of children in each space and they are constantly engaged with the children in their activities. The educators also go out of their way to personally bring interesting things in from home or share experiences from their lives - whether it's bringing in a new type of food, arranging for their animal to visit or sharing experiences from their weekend or latest holiday. Aside from learning from new experiences, I think this also helps the children connect with the educators and encourages them to share their lives from home. We receive daily updates on what the children have been up to via Storypark. We also plan with the educators about what is important to us - goals for our child, our family values, any special interests we would like to share, etc. We receive regular updates on these goals, plans for how we're going to work towards each goal and make adjustments together to ensure we're always aligned. At the end of the day I can see how much my child has developed and how happy she has been the last 2 years since starting at Goodstart Tumbi Umbi. Highly recommend - thank you to all the fantastic educators for all you do!

Appalled at the level of care they feel is appropriate, regarding medical care even if it is just a barrier cream and it’s almost as if it’s to much for them to do, I request all the medical forms and they were so inconsistent with my instructions and quite rude when approaching them about it becoming very very defensive well as far as I’m concerned your defensive is out of guilty consciences and I’m sorry but any medical condition in my eyes whether a allergy or a nappy rash require the same duty of care that should be carried out unfortunately this incident is what is bringing me to removing my child from this facility and I wouldn’t even think twice about it, last year I unfortunately had another incident where I had picked up my son from preschool on a rainy day, dripping wet, shoes and socks off and a minor cough. When I had asked if they thought that was appropriate once again becoming very defensive, I had informed them that I do not feel that is appropriate as it is just going to encourage a cold in that weather but god forbid you tell them what to do with your child. They say they are all about the children and suiting to the parents routin care but they don’t want to listen to anything they have to say it’s incredibly frustrating as mentioned they have drawn the line neglecting my sons medical care and I won’t have anything to do with them further but don’t think it’s fair at all that they just plain don’t care as the key educators comment was if you don’t feel that this centre is for you maybe you should look for another one! I am insulted as I don’t feel it should have been a hard ask providing a prescription cream with a medical form filled out with instructions! They are100% right the centre is not for me as I don’t feel it would be for many parents! Also to note a majority of the children that attend the facility are in fact the staff members children and honestly I would say that is about 40% of the children in the whole centre! They run around following there parents doing whatever they want and I have my speculations but you can’t tell me there wouldn’t be favouritism. Sometimes they have these really random spontaneous ideas like bringing in the staffs random big dogs from home which made me incredibly uncomfortable due to the fact that it was just a random dog not only to me but to these children! I don’t care how trustworthy they staff member felt it’s a different situation when a room full of children are involved. When first enrolling they had this amazing philosophy of self identity but have not demonstrated one ounce of it in the year we have been there. Bottom line is they are so unapproachable it’s uncomfortable and even if you do get to approach them they couldn’t care less as they have demonstrated. I have notified the ECD and will be taking further action but here is hoping that this comment will assist parents when choosing and appropriate accomidating centre. Don’t even get my started on my suspicions of the ration as it is usually 1 staff member to 10 children in the 3-4 room and I have been informed it should be 1stsff member to 5 children in the 3-4 roombut futher investigations will be carried out
