I Cannot recommend this childcare center enough! Kerry and her amazing educators are all incredible and the love, support and learning environment that they create for each child is outstanding. Also, all the incredible new toys, equipment and furniture that they have done recently to keep our little ones entertained and safe, has been such a huge success. My little one loves going here!! 5/5 stars 🌟

About The Learning Cottage Nerang

The Learning Cottage Nerang is founded on our holistic approach to learning, meaningful relationships and a safe, home-like environment. We believe all children should be treated with equality and their linguistic diversity should be embraced and acknowledged. We encourage each child’s uniqueness and strive to provide an environment where children’s interests, creativity, curiosity and sense of agency is provided.

We work closely with our children, families and community to create a program that is meaningful and relative to the children’s interests, strengths and areas of development. Our educators acknowledge this and ensure The Early Years Framework is implemented through quality practices and guidance for your child’s learning. Our team upholds a professional and nurturing approach to early education, using critical reflective practices and strong communication between our children and families.

We’re very passionate about sustainability and educating children on the importance of taking care of our bodies, land, water and other living beings.

Meet the team

Kerry is our Centre Director, bringing with her many years of experience across a variety of roles in early childhood education. She prides herself on building positive, supportive relationships with families and is always ready to lend a helping hand to her team. With extensive knowledge across all areas of early childhood, Kerry is especially passionate about helping children transition smoothly and positively into the service.

Molly, our 2IC, wears her heart on her sleeve and has a genuine love for her role at The Learning Cottage. She adores the children and their families and goes above and beyond to support them. With many years of industry experience, Molly’s dedication shines through in everything she does.

Both Kerry and Molly also have grandchildren who attend our service, which makes our team feel even more like one big, happy family.

Parent communication and involvement

Parent communication and involvement

At The Learning Cottage, we believe that families are children’s first and most important teachers. That’s why we place strong value on open, respectful, and ongoing communication with every parent and carer.

We work closely with families to ensure that you always feel informed, supported, and involved in your child’s learning journey. From daily updates and conversations at drop-off and pick-up, to regular newsletters, photos, and learning stories, we aim to keep you connected with what’s happening in your child’s day.

Family voices matter to us. We encourage parents to share their ideas, cultural practices, and feedback, and we welcome involvement in service events, celebrations, and learning opportunities. Whether it’s reading a story, joining in on a special activity, or helping us celebrate important milestones, family participation strengthens the sense of community we hold so dear.

By working in partnership, we create a warm and inclusive environment where children feel secure, valued, and part of one big extended family.

Centre philosophy

Centre philosophy

At The Learning Cottage, we see every child as unique, capable, and full of potential. We provide a warm, home-like environment where children feel safe, valued, and connected.

We celebrate diversity, encourage children’s voices and choices, and work in close partnership with families to support each child’s learning journey. Our educators follow the Early Years Learning Framework and use reflective practice to create meaningful, play-based learning experiences.

We are passionate about sustainability, healthy living, and teaching children to care for themselves, each other, and the world around them. Together, we grow as one big learning family.

I am beyond grateful for the team at Little World for always going above and beyond for my two sons. (4 and 9 years of age) They have been such a huge part of their learning development and wellbeing. We’ve been at the centre for five years and 5 stars is simply just not enough to rate them. I would highly recommend this centre to anyone looking for childcare or before and after school care! They are amazing 😊

Little world for Active Learners has been absolutely amazing from when my daughter started when she was 6 months old to now being in before and after school care at the age of 5. The staff have been absolutely fantastic and has always understood my daughters needs and requirements. I would 100% recommend.
