Our son recently started attending this daycare once a week, and as expected, it’s been a big transition for him. From the very beginning, the personal care and attention from the educators have been incredibly comforting for both him and us. A special thank you to Jamie from the nursery room, as well as Anna and Fatima from the toddler room. They’ve all played such a big role in helping him feel safe, supported, and happy. They take such good care of him throughout the day: feeding him when he’s reluctant to eat, comforting him when he misses us, and gently encouraging him to take part in different activities and play. We’ve already noticed how much he’s learning and progressing. It’s amazing to see how he’s growing each week. I really appreciated that in the early weeks, when drop-offs were emotional, the educators would call to let me know he had settled and was enjoying his day. We’re very grateful to have such a caring and responsive team looking after him. Highly recommend this centre to any parents navigating the early daycare journey.

About the Curriculum

About the Curriculum

“Let the child be the scriptwriter, director and the actor in their own play” - Magda Gerber

Nursery Space: 6 weeks – 2 years

Learning starts from before birth, and our Educators have created a welcoming and nurturing nursery environment where each baby feels safe to explore and discover new things - through their senses, their communication and cues (body language, facial expression and sounds) and through experimentation. On any given day you can see the nursery children engaging in all types of play including sensory play, music time, story time and more. Every day provides a brand new, exciting adventure for our babies to support their development, learning and wellbeing.

Toddler Space: 2 - 3 years

Our teachers and educators encourage the children to learn through play to help enhance their sensory-motor development. This happens through carefully planned music, dance, games, role playing and reading experiences.

On any given day the Toddlers can be seen developing their numeracy by building a tower, sorting objects, pointing and identifying shapes and patterns and participating in counting songs and games.

Children in our toddler space are encouraged to participate in group play. Group play is important as it helps our toddlers develop important social skills such as, turn-taking, developing self-confidence and emotional self-regulation. Our skilled team helps children through talking, planning and role modelling.

Kindergarten Space: 3 – 6 years

Kindergarten is a unique time for learning with peers and developing skills for later learning including confidence and curiosity, important skills for starting school. Our play-based program has school readiness at its core, encouraging active engagement in learning and supporting a range of positive developmental outcomes including resilience, independence, critical thinking and creativity.

The oral language supports literacy learning and a child’s oral language ability is the best predictor for later success in learning to read and write. Hearing the sounds within a language is the first critical step for all literacy learning. Our team supports our Kindergarten children's literacy development by engaging in rich discussions, reading, storytelling, dramatic play and experimentation all of which introduce new vocabulary as part of everyday conversations.

Throughout the Kindergarten year, children use their language to share ideas, ask questions, express themselves, and connect with peers and adults in social settings.

Social-emotional skills, including the ability to self-regulate emotions, are supported through group learning experiences. Our team supports each child’s social and emotional development by labelling and talking about emotions and supporting appropriate responses as together, they engage in new and challenging situations. Our goal in the kindergarten year is to prepare children and families for a smooth transition to primary school.

Health and Nutrition

Health and Nutrition

Our centre chef prepares and cooks nutritious meals daily, catering to the unique dietary requirements of every child. We believe that by encouraging active participation (such as growing their own fruit and vegetables, preparing, and finally cooking!) children learn to appreciate and understand the importance of healthy eating across a wide variety of food.

Our centre offers seasonal whole food-based menus – created to delight the fussiest eaters.

Hi my name is Victoria, and I am the Centre Manager here at Patterson Lakes WOL. I started working in early learning in 2014 and joined Patterson Lakes WOL in 2024. I hold a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and have extensive experience in the field. I have worked as an assistant educator, lead educator, assistant centre manager, WHS leader, and educational leader.

My passion for working with children began when I was young. I always wanted to provide children with every opportunity to grow and develop into their own person. I am passionate about creating an environment where children feel safe, secure, loved, and supported. Each child has a unique learning journey, and I love guiding them through theirs. The bonds I have created with children and their families have been the most rewarding part of my journey, and I continue to learn, grow, and develop in all aspects of my career.

As educators, it is our responsibility to offer a safe environment that nurtures children’s social, emotional, and physical well-being. We work alongside families to create a circle of support that will lift children to their greatest selves. At our centre, children develop their curiosity, problem-solving skills, confidence, and resilience. We carefully plan play-based learning experiences around their interests and learning goals. Our team at Patterson Lakes World of Learning is a small, long-serving, dedicated group of professionals. We believe it takes a village to raise a child and value the importance of making our children and families feel comfortable, welcomed, and part of the wider community.

I support our families by greeting them each day in a positive environment. I understand that starting at a new childcare centre can be overwhelming, and from the very first inquiry, I make sure to address all your questions one by one. Building a strong foundation with our families is an important part of my role as a centre manager.

My son has attended this centre since he was 6 months old (he is now 5) and my daughter began this year. I have always found the staff quite approachable and relatively easy to talk to. Daily updates are sent to parents to show what the children have done each day which we love to see.

Response from the owner 30 Jul 2025

Dear Stephanie, Thanks for your rating. We appreciate your feedback and are committed to providing the best nurturing environment possible. Please let us know if there’s anything we can improve on to make your experience even better. Warm wishes, The World of Learning Team

We had the pleasure of hosting the lovely teachers from Patterson Lakes World of Learning and their adorable 3–4-year-old group at our cafe. The teachers were incredibly kind, attentive, and full of positive energy. It was clear how much they care about the children—they were so patient and nurturing the entire time. The kids were beautifully behaved and it was such a joy to have them all here. Thank you for choosing us—we’d love to welcome you back anytime!
