Your child will learn and develop fundamental skills through a variety of play-based activities that focus on their needs and strengths. Playing outside encourages a free-flowing education of a child’s natural surroundings. Whether learning how plants grow or how insects live, such an experience fosters an all-important respect for nature that children can carry forward into the future.
Children naturally run, jump, skip and throw balls when they’re outside – strengthening muscles, increasing motor skills and improving hand-eye coordination. Plus, the more active children can be, the more likely they’ll remain healthy and engaged.
There’s nothing like the outdoors to inspire creative, unstructured play. Outdoor activities, games, and role-play provide perfect opportunities for children to develop their language skills and social/emotional interactions with others. And have a whole lot of fun doing it.

"Our daughter has been at Petit for eight months, spending most of this time in the babies room. I can’t speak highly enough of the centre, but in particular the educators in the babies room. Vittoria, Jacquie and the whole team are so gentle and kind, I couldn’t think of better carers to look after our baby. I didn’t truly appreciate the enormity of leaving our daughter at day care until we sent her to Petit, but we were very quickly put at ease with the kindness and beautiful nature of the team. I knew she was in great hands at drop off when she would give Vittoria a big, happy smile. It’s very comforting knowing she’s in such great care."

"I cannot speak highly enough of Kew Petit Early Learning Centre. I send my two children to this centre, and I am so happy with the care they receive. The centre director Agnes is very welcoming, makes you feel like you’re a part of the Petit family, and takes a genuine interest in the children. Selina is great too! It is evident the centre is well managed, as the staff members are always smiling and appear happy and calm. In addition, the quality of food is excellent (thanks Terrence).
Ellie, Eloise, and the team in Burrows Lane are amazing and go over and above to support the children. They are so caring, positive, energetic, and enthusiastic. Ellie, the lead educator of this room, is an excellent leader and is a very knowledgeable educator. Ellie provides the children a wealth of learning experiences, giving them with the best start to their education journeys. No challenge is too much for Ellie, and she is always willing to go out of her way to support my son. Similarly, Eloise is excellent at her job, genuinely cares about the children, and is always willing to provide a summary of my child’s day. Ellie and Eloise are both assets to the Centre! My son has made fantastic gains and always comes home happy.
Vittoria, Jacqueline, and the team in Baby Boulevard are also amazing. They are calm, caring, professional and patient and are perfectly suited to a baby room. They show a genuine interest in each child and their communication is impeccable. The gains my young son has made during his time in this room are fantastic and it is so heart-warming to see him achieving new skills. Thank you so much for all the great work you do!"

Selina Lucky has served as the Centre Manager at Little Assets Early Learning in Kew for over three and a half years, building on a decade of experience in early childhood education since 2011. Her career has spanned roles from educator to lead educator, educational leader, assistant director, and now centre director. Throughout this progression, she has consistently fostered positive, nurturing environments where families, children, and staff feel valued, supported, and secure.

I went in for a tour recently and was only shown 1 empty room... the lady was encouraging me to leave my baby on the floor in a room by himself so she could show me outside. I asked about the adult to baby ratio, she said 1 to 4 but the baby room had 6 babies that day and there was only 1 staff. The whole tour was really rushed and at the end there was a lot of pressure to commit to enrolment ans make payment. The whole thing just felt really off.

We understand how important it is for parents to feel comfortable and confident when choosing care for their child. Your feedback is valuable, and we take it seriously as part of our ongoing commitment to improving our processes. We would like to clarify that our baby room operates with the required educator-to-child ratios at all times. In addition to the educators you saw in the main space, we also have educators present in the attached sleep room, which may not have been immediately visible during your visit. This can sometimes give the impression of fewer staff than are actually present. We are also disappointed to hear that your tour felt rushed and that you felt pressured at the end. This is not the experience we want for any family. Tours should be calm, informative, and tailored to your needs, and we will be addressing this with our team to ensure that every family receives the highest standard of care and communication. If you are open to it, we would genuinely appreciate the opportunity to welcome you back for a properly guided tour so we can show you the full environment and answer any questions at your pace. I am so thankful to Petit / Little Assets for the care and support they showed my family from 2023-2025. I can't believe how much my son absorbed in this time and I am still surprised with things he has learned! The center operates to exceptional standards and has definitely contributed to my son's learning development, trust and sense of safety amongst others and has facilitated friendships with his peers and educators. It is always a good feeling to drop him off and see him run into the room for a hug. Special mentions to Dikshya, Vittoria and Li Hong, who have been there right from the beginning and throughout our journey. I can't thank you enough for being apart of our foundational years.
