About Goodstart Early Learning Sheidow Park - Young Street

Goodstart Early Learning Child Care Centre Sheidow Park is conveniently located near local schools and shops, easily accessible for families from both nearby and surrounding suburbs. We cater to children from six weeks to five years, including universal access for Kindergarten-aged children. Our welcoming centre offers a community-oriented atmosphere, designed to provide children with a nurturing, natural play experience.

Our indoor rooms, from Nursery to Kindergarten, are aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework, featuring sensory and play-based learning opportunities. Each area is thoughtfully arranged to inspire growth and development through hands-on, engaging activities. Outside, our three age-appropriate play areas include sandpits, a wooden boat, veggie patches, and shaded spaces, encouraging children to explore and connect with nature.

We maintain an open-door policy and value family feedback, using Storypark, newsletters, and regular family nights to keep communication transparent and collaborative. This allows us to personalise each program to support individual needs, interests, and strengths while celebrating our centre’s cultural diversity.

When you enrol with us, your child will have access to secure facilities, nutritious meals prepared daily by an on-site cook, and a comprehensive school readiness program. Essentials like nappies, wipes, cot linen, and sunscreen are also included at no extra cost.

We welcome you to book a tour, meet our team, and explore how we can support your child’s early learning journey. Join our Facebook community for centre updates and early childhood resources.

Curriculum and programs

Curriculum and programs

The educators at Goodstart Early Learning follow an evidence-based curriculum that aligns with the Early Years Learning Framework. Informed by world-leading research, practices and techniques, the curriculum encourages the children’s natural curiosity and engages them in their learning journey.

As the children move through the different rooms in the centre, the curriculum evolves with them. The educators set goals for the children and celebrate as they reach their milestones. At every stage, the educators are tailoring the curriculum and goals to each child’s individual needs.

The curriculum involves different types of learning experiences and styles. From child-led learning to sessions guided by educators, the children participate in small and large group sessions as well as individual play. Most importantly, the children learn through play, developing social skills, confidence and independence in addition to more formal academic skills.

Parent communication and involvement

Parent communication and involvement

Goodstart Early Learning uses the StoryPark app to connect with parents throughout the day. The educators upload photos and stories to the secure app, which parents can access anytime and anywhere to track their child’s progress.

The approach at the centre is very much based around partnership between families and educators. The educators work with the parents and carers to build strong relationships. They develop trust so the children can feel safe and secure while at the centre. Parents are also encouraged to share their insights and feedback with educators to add depth to the relationship.

The educators observe the children every day and tailor the program around their observations. They share these with parents, so they can feel connected to their child’s progress and also provide feedback that will further enhance their child’s learning experience.

Meet the team

Meet the team

Goodstart Early Learning employs qualified and skilled educators who are dedicated to making a difference to the children in their care. The centre employs people who are empathetic and compassionate, with a nurturing disposition and a passion for care. Working collaboratively as a team, the educators display qualities such as positivity, kindness and, most importantly, a desire to help every child thrive.

The educators hold relevant qualifications, including the Kindergarten and Preschool Program teachers who are university qualified. The educators are lifelong learners, participating in regular and ongoing professional development to enhance their skills. They are encouraged to upskill, learning about the latest research and thinking in the sector. They can then bring this knowledge back to the centre to share with their colleagues for the benefit of the children.

Such an amazing childcare that feels like family! Our son has been attending since he was 12 months old and he absolutely loves it. Everyone is so lovely! Knowing he is so well looked after and cared for makes drop offs easy! He has learnt so much since he started and watching him develop new skills from his days there is amazing! Highly recommend the team at Goodstart Young St :)

We moved our middle child here from another centre and have since enrolled our youngest daughter as well. We haven't looked back! The staff have been so welcoming and friendly over the last 2.5years that we have been attending Goodstart young street. We love getting stories about her day through storypark and then going through the photos and talking about her day at bed time. It helps us feel connected to her learning and social program. Thank you guys!

Response from the owner 27 Mar 2022

Thank you for the wonderful feedback Kendall! We are so glad to hear that you love the updates on Storypark and discuss them together as a family. Thanks for being part of our family at Goodstart Sheidow Park :-)
