  • Local school connections.

We focus on strong family partnerships through regular learning and development conversations with your child’s lead educator, learning showcases, and in-centre family events. Our Xplor app provides real-time updates and learning summaries daily to keep you informed on your child’s journey.

About the Curriculum

About the Curriculum

“Let the child be the scriptwriter, director and the actor in their own play” - Magda Gerber

Nursery Space: 6 weeks – 2 years

Learning starts from before birth, and our Educators have created a welcoming and nurturing nursery environment where each baby feels safe to explore and discover new things - through their senses, their communication and cues (body language, facial expression and sounds) and through experimentation. On any given day you can see the nursery children engaging in all types of play including sensory play, music time, story time and more. Every day provides a brand new, exciting adventure for our babies to support their development, learning and wellbeing.

Toddler Space: 2 - 3 years

Our teachers and educators encourage the children to learn through play to help enhance their sensory-motor development. This happens through carefully planned music, dance, games, role playing and reading experiences.

On any given day the Toddlers can be seen developing their numeracy by building a tower, sorting objects, pointing and identifying shapes and patterns and participating in counting songs and games.

Children in our toddler space are encouraged to participate in group play. Group play is important as it helps our toddlers develop important social skills such as, turn-taking, developing self-confidence and emotional self-regulation. Our skilled team helps children through talking, planning and role modelling.

Kindergarten Space: 3 – 6 years

Kindergarten is a unique time for learning with peers and developing skills for later learning including confidence and curiosity, important skills for starting school. Our play-based program has school readiness at its core, encouraging active engagement in learning and supporting a range of positive developmental outcomes including resilience, independence, critical thinking and creativity.

The oral language supports literacy learning and a child’s oral language ability is the best predictor for later success in learning to read and write. Hearing the sounds within a language is the first critical step for all literacy learning. Our team supports our Kindergarten children's literacy development by engaging in rich discussions, reading, storytelling, dramatic play and experimentation all of which introduce new vocabulary as part of everyday conversations.

Throughout the Kindergarten year, children use their language to share ideas, ask questions, express themselves, and connect with peers and adults in social settings.

Social-emotional skills, including the ability to self-regulate emotions, are supported through group learning experiences. Our team supports each child’s social and emotional development by labelling and talking about emotions and supporting appropriate responses as together, they engage in new and challenging situations. Our goal in the kindergarten year is to prepare children and families for a smooth transition to primary school.

Health and Nutrition

Health and Nutrition

Our centre chef prepares and cooks nutritious meals daily, catering to the unique dietary requirements of every child. We believe that by encouraging active participation (such as growing their own fruit and vegetables, preparing, and finally cooking!) children learn to appreciate and understand the importance of healthy eating across a wide variety of food.

Our centre offers seasonal whole food-based menus – created to delight the fussiest eaters.

Meet the team

Meet the team

To support children in becoming competent and confident learners, I believe in creating an interactive, supportive, and nurturing environment.

I began working in early learning in March 2016 and joined Burwood East in May 2023. I have been a qualified Early Childhood Teacher (ECT) since March 2016 and have been serving as a centre manager since May 2018.

My passion lies in establishing a culture where children are highly valued. As an early childhood educator, my role is to empower children’s learning by creating an environment that contributes to valued learning outcomes for all children. Seeing children grow and reach different milestones is one of the most exciting aspects of early childhood education. I am proud to be in a position where I can advocate for quality education and care practices that support young children’s learning during these formative years. To support children in becoming competent and confident learners, I believe in creating an interactive, supportive, and nurturing environment. As qualified and experienced educators, we have the opportunity to shape the future of young learners by providing engaging and creative learning experiences that support their holistic development.

Our team at Burwood East has extensive experience in supporting children’s learning and development. Most of our team members hold diplomas, and we have two Bachelor-qualified ECTs running the pre-kindergarten and kindergarten rooms. We foster a nurturing team culture where we respect everyone’s cultural identity and work together to promote positive learning outcomes for all children. Many of our team members are multilingual, offering additional support to children and families by speaking their home languages.

We show support to our families by spending quality time with them during orientations and sharing feedback about their children’s day during pick-up and drop-off times. We enjoy celebrating various occasions with our families, including Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Christmas parties, children’s birthdays, kindergarten info nights, transition-to-school evenings, and NDIS informative sessions. We also invite families to participate in supporting children’s learning by reading books in their child’s room, sharing professional knowledge during special mat times, and providing feedback through surveys and questionnaires to help design learning experiences for their children.

I look forward to welcoming your family to Greenwood Burwood East early learning centre.

The childcare center is poorly managed, with substandard food and overall inadequate care. It’s best to avoid it to prevent future regret.

Review from a family attending from last 1year - Our child goes to 3yr Kindi - The Kinder teachers are BEST in the TOWN - So passionately they teach a child what to do and not - Best Foundation possible for the little ones...... Big Thank You to Vidhi and Hazel.... We Really Appreciate Your Teaching Skill and Pattern. Other educators like Sonia B , Jenny , Vajira , Dinushi , Nadika and Rohini - All of them are so wonderful , just like " Mums Outside Home". Our child loves each of them individually because of their care and love. Chef Hue - your lovely and yummy ( at least from smell :) ) cooking deserves wholehearted kudos....... Your smiling face makes kids and their parents very happy. The area where this center needs some attention is - centre management . The center is 'blessed to have ' so many wonderful staffs but management is not as professional as it should be. Center Manager is most of the time 'away from desk ' , even if phone calls are 'not answered '. The center is in such a 'prime location' but always attendance is below avg. - Centre manager has no 'strategy' to bring more kids or to keep existing kids happy. Center Manager is not worried / concerned for kid's comfort , staff availability and making the center more welcoming for kids. Center Manager 'wants to save electricity bills' so keeps rooms dark which makes kids 'uncomfortable' and 'scared'. I wish , Center Manager will receive some good OH&S , Kids-safety and child-psychology related training in future to make this center as a one of the BEST in this locality. Last but not the least , Big Thanks to G8 group for listening to all concerns and trying to coach staffs to get it done.
