Enrolled my first born child there over 10 years ago and was very happy with the care, therefore decided to enrol my second born this year. Unfortunately my daughter was constantly sick with respiratory illnesses for the entire duration of her nine months care there. And so much so ended up with Pneuno virus, RSV and pneumonia in hospital. In which we pulled her out the Centre. She lost 5 kilos and was very unwell. As a parent I was extremely worried and stressed so I brought my concerns to the Centre. Raised issues regarding keeping her warm, well fed and and cared. In doing so I was made to feel as though I was causing issues when I raised concerns when I questioned the level of care. On some occasions upon pick up, I found her in just a t-shirt in freezing cold winter weather(even though I requested she be in three layers)dirty poo nappies, runny noses with snot running out her nose and told on one occasion that she didn't eat that day. She didn't like the food and therefore only ate cucumber. Upon questioning the director, she told me that she wasn't offered even a vegemite sandwich as a substitute as it wasn't in the budget and that she couldn't be given special treatment as then all the children would expect the same. Also, I was told that if I didn't like the level care that "I should cease care". I was expecting my concerns to be listened to, valued and a solution put in place. Very disappointing. I would have hoped that my fees per day would have covered food and basic needs of a child. Unfortunately not. The attitude I was given by CERTAIN staff also made it uncomfortable for me and I was spoken to quite rudely on more than one occasion. Maybe the Centre should not presume that all parents ARE happy, they may not feel comfortable raising concerns incase they are treated exactly as I was. They need to look at their practices and personal attitude towards parent concerns. I would not recommend sending your child there.

After touring a LOT of childcare centres QECCCC was the only centre I felt really comfortable leaving my baby with. I have had 2 children at the centre over 5 years with my 3rd baby about to start. In my profession I hear a lot of concerns and worries about childcare centres and I can honestly say it’s such a relief we rarely have sickness or any other issues. I have had a lovely experience so far and couldn’t recommend more. It’s well run, beautiful staff and high staff retention, and the cook Reshma is a magician. My advice is get on the waitlist early!

Highly recommend The QEHCCC! We’ve had such a wonderful experience where my child has thrived in a very loving, supportive and kind environment. All educators have been amazing and cater for each child’s interests and needs. My child has loved playing in all the play spaces but especially the forest where the learning has been so authentic. Thank you to you all for providing a safe and beautiful environment for my child who has loved every day of attending. We’ll miss you when we leave.
