Halifax Early Learning (Halifax Street Children’s Centre & Preschool) has been such a lovely place for children and families. The educators are warm, caring, and really take the time to get to know each child and what they need. I love that my daughter get to do more than just activities inside the centre. They go on little outings, explore the local area, and get involved in the community, which makes her learning feel real and exciting. It also feels very welcoming for families. There’s a nice sense of connection, and you can tell the staff genuinely care about the children and the people around them. I’d happily recommend Halifax Early Learning (Halifax Street Children’s Centre & Preschool) to other families.

Finding an early learning centre that I genuinely felt comfortable with was honestly much harder than I expected, so when we found this centre, it was such a relief. From the very beginning, the staff made us feel welcomed, supported, and confident that our son was in the best hands. The educators are caring, patient, and genuinely invested in the children’s wellbeing and development. Our son absolutely loves attending each day and has grown so much in confidence, learning, and social skills since starting here in May 2025. The centre always feels welcoming, clean, and well organised, and communication with families is excellent. It gives us real peace of mind knowing our son is in such a safe and nurturing environment. We’re so grateful to the amazing staff for everything they do and would highly recommend this centre to other families.

My neatly 2 year old son goes to this daycare And has been since he’s been 7 month old. It is absolutely great there, the food is amazing, they go on outings together in the youngest room (grass areas outside the center) and the educators there are so lovely!!! Plus multicultural with educators who are from various backgrounds 😀 he comes home so happy and really looked after.

Halifax has been an exceptional find for our family. The educators are nurturing and professional, creating a warm, engaging environment. We are particularly impressed by the high-quality, nutritious meals provided and the fantastic, varied excursions that foster curiosity, making drop-off a happy experience every day.

Personally would not recommend this centre as the staff do not supervise the children, they leave the children unattended in bathrooms, staff scream aggressively at the children and are rude to the casual staff, the centre is dirty, staff are burnt out and rude. I would reconsider sending your child here. The place is old enough to turn it into a nursing home.

We are moving centres closer to home, otherwise we would have stayed at this little gem of a childcare centre.

It is really a wonderful place for the kid. My daughter can not understand English at the beginning but the staff are super willing to help!!! Great place.

We were lucky to have our son attend the centre for his first 2 and half years of his early education. The educators are fantastic and never failed to show a high level of dedication and care.

Choosing Halifax Children’s Centre has been one of the best decisions I’ve made for my little one, who’s now a toddler. The warmth, care, and kindness the educators and staff offer are truly unmatchable. The centre is filled with genuinely good-hearted people, which makes it feel extra safe and comforting for both children and parents. The educators in Room 1 and Room 2, along with all the staff, have become like family to us through their love and support. We will truly miss this wonderful place. Highly recommend Halifax to any parent looking for a nurturing, safe, and caring environment. Plus, the food is absolutely delicious—another big bonus!

Both of our children have attended Halifax Street Children's Centre & Preschool and I can't say enough about how happy we are with the care and education they have received there. The educators and staff are nurturing, supportive, and professional. The emphasis that the Centre's team places on the Early Years Learning Framework and Curriculum ensured that our eldest was more than ready for primary school by the time she finished. The Centre is conveniently located for city-based professionals and has excellent opening hours. We also love the Centre's strong emphasis on food and nutrition, and it is so reassuring to know that my children have had well-balanced and nutritious meals throughout the day. The staff also encourage the children to be active participants in the food-making process, which was always a highlight for my eldest. Halifax St Children's Centre & Preschool is an exemplar centre and I cannot recommend it more highly.
