As parents of a child in the baby room, we haven’t experienced every part of the centre yet, but we’ve been so impressed with Halifax Early Learning that we wanted to share our experience.<br><br>The educators have been absolutely wonderful. Our son genuinely loves coming each day and happily runs through the door to see his carers, which gives us so much confidence that he’s happy, safe and well cared for.<br><br>One of the things that really stood out to us is how much they embrace the city as part of the children’s learning. Even the babies head out on excursions to explore local parks, libraries and the surrounding neighbourhood. It’s such a unique experience, and we’re already excited for when he’s older and can take advantage of the free City Connector bus to explore even more of Adelaide.<br><br>The food is another highlight. The menu always looks fresh and delicious, with plenty of variety, and our son often goes back for extra serves! We love that he’s exposed to foods we don’t regularly cook at home and is encouraged to try new things.<br><br>The outdoor spaces are fantastic too. The baby area has a wonderful indoor-outdoor design with a covered verandah and secure, high-fenced outdoor space that can be enjoyed throughout the year. The preschool outdoor area is an incredible hidden gem, you’d never know it existed from the street. There’s a huge shady tree, vegetable gardens, climbing equipment, musical play spaces and so much room for children to explore and play. We can’t wait for our son to enjoy it as he grows.<br><br>We also really value that Halifax Early Learning is a community-run centre with a parent management committee. It gives the centre a genuine community feel, and it’s reassuring to know decisions are made with children and families at the heart of everything they do.<br><br>We’re so glad we chose Halifax Early Learning and would happily recommend it to any family looking for a nurturing, community-focused early learning centre in the Adelaide CBD.

Our daughter absolutely adores coming to Halifax. The staff are beyond supportive and so very kind. The meals look incredible and the activities the centre puts together for the children are amazing. Could not be happier with our choice of childcare.

Halifax Early Learning (Halifax Street Children’s Centre & Preschool) has been such a lovely place for children and families. The educators are warm, caring, and really take the time to get to know each child and what they need. I love that my daughter get to do more than just activities inside the centre. They go on little outings, explore the local area, and get involved in the community, which makes her learning feel real and exciting. It also feels very welcoming for families. There’s a nice sense of connection, and you can tell the staff genuinely care about the children and the people around them. I’d happily recommend Halifax Early Learning (Halifax Street Children’s Centre & Preschool) to other families.

Finding an early learning centre that I genuinely felt comfortable with was honestly much harder than I expected, so when we found this centre, it was such a relief. From the very beginning, the staff made us feel welcomed, supported, and confident that our son was in the best hands. The educators are caring, patient, and genuinely invested in the children’s wellbeing and development. Our son absolutely loves attending each day and has grown so much in confidence, learning, and social skills since starting here in May 2025. The centre always feels welcoming, clean, and well organised, and communication with families is excellent. It gives us real peace of mind knowing our son is in such a safe and nurturing environment. We’re so grateful to the amazing staff for everything they do and would highly recommend this centre to other families.

My neatly 2 year old son goes to this daycare And has been since he’s been 7 month old. It is absolutely great there, the food is amazing, they go on outings together in the youngest room (grass areas outside the center) and the educators there are so lovely!!! Plus multicultural with educators who are from various backgrounds 😀 he comes home so happy and really looked after.

Halifax has been an exceptional find for our family. The educators are nurturing and professional, creating a warm, engaging environment. We are particularly impressed by the high-quality, nutritious meals provided and the fantastic, varied excursions that foster curiosity, making drop-off a happy experience every day.

Personally would not recommend this centre as the staff do not supervise the children, they leave the children unattended in bathrooms, staff scream aggressively at the children and are rude to the casual staff, the centre is dirty, staff are burnt out and rude. I would reconsider sending your child here. The place is old enough to turn it into a nursing home.

Big thank you to the Room Educators, Director, and Admin support for all of the work that you do to make the kids feel supported to become beautiful little people. We are moving centres closer to home, otherwise we would have stayed at this little gem of a childcare centre.

It is really a wonderful place for the kid. My daughter can not understand English at the beginning but the staff are super willing to help!!! Great place.

We were lucky to have our son attend the centre for his first 2 and half years of his early education. The educators are fantastic and never failed to show a high level of dedication and care.
