All of our educators are permanent staff, well known in the community, and committed to creating strong, lasting relationships with children and families.

Our purpose-built centre caters for 72 children aged 6 weeks to 6 years, with a strong focus on quality, safety, and education. Families value the stability and high standards we provide, including:

Centre philosophy

Centre philosophy

Understanding Children in Context
Here at Wentworthville Childcare and Preschool, we believe that children grow and thrive when they are supported not only as individuals, but within the many relationships and environments that surround them. Drawing on Bronfenbrenner’s Ecological Systems Theory, our philosophy reflects a deep respect for the people, places, and connections that shape children’s lives—from their families and educators to the wider community and society.

By nurturing these relationships, we create a safe and secure foundation for children to develop confidence, independence, and a love of learning. We view each child’s journey as unique and dynamic, and we support their development through play-based, intentional experiences that spark curiosity and build essential skills for school and beyond.

Our Four Pillars
The heart of our practice is grounded in four key relationships—those with the child, the family, the community, and the educators. These pillars shape every aspect of our approach and reflect our belief that learning is most meaningful when it is built on connection, collaboration, and respect. Through these relationships, we strive to create a nurturing and inspiring environment that supports each child’s growth and sense of belonging.

The Child
We see every child as capable, competent, and full of potential. We support children as active participants in their learning by offering a rich, play-based environment that encourages exploration, decision-making, and creativity. Through warm relationships and thoughtful guidance, we promote children’s autonomy, emotional resilience, and critical thinking. These qualities form the building blocks of academic success and ensure that each child is well-prepared to transition into the next stage of their educational journey.

The Family
We recognise families as children’s first and most influential teachers, and we are honoured to be a part of their child’s learning story. We build strong, respectful partnerships with families, encouraging open communication and collaborative involvement in the life of the centre. By acknowledging the diverse cultures, experiences, and hopes that families bring, we create a space where everyone feels welcome and valued. This shared understanding helps children feel secure, connected, and confident.

The Community
We are proud to be part of a close-knit community where relationships and traditions are deeply valued. Our centre actively builds connections with local schools, organisations, and services to enrich children’s learning and sense of belonging. Through community walks, shared events, and intergenerational experiences, we help children understand their place in the world and nurture their growing identity as kind, capable, and contributing members of their community.

The Educators
Our educators are thoughtful, professional, and deeply committed to supporting every child’s development. We see ourselves as guides and facilitators who respond to children’s interests and extend their learning through purposeful experiences. By embedding early literacy, numeracy, and thinking skills into our daily program, we prepare children with the tools they need for formal schooling—while keeping their sense of wonder and agency at the heart of all we do. We are committed to reflective practice, ongoing learning, and building warm, consistent relationships with children and families.

This philosophy is a living document that evolves with our community’s needs and aspirations. We invite feedback and collaboration to ensure it remains relevant and reflective of our shared values.

Parent communication and involvement

We warmly invite families to participate in centre events, celebrations, and programs as active members of our Wentworthville Childcare and Preschool family.

They appreciate the thoughtfully designed programs that support children’s learning and development, the inviting indoor and outdoor environments, and the caring, professional staff who make every child feel valued and supported.

Here are some testimonials from the families:

“We feel so incredibly blessed to have found this centre for our daughter. She has been attending for the past 1.5 years and I truly can’t speak highly enough of the experience we’ve had.
After touring just about every childcare centre in the area and surrounding suburbs, this was the only one where I felt completely comfortable and I’m so glad I trusted that instinct.
The educational program is exceptional with thoughtfully planned experiences that support real learning through play. The rooms and outdoor spaces are always set up in the most beautiful, inviting ways that make my daughter excited and want to go to school each day to see what ‘new things’ she will be learning about.
The food provided is amazing, but what really makes this centre stand out is the staff. Every educator is so caring, kind and genuinely committed to building strong, nurturing relationships with the children.
The management team are also fantastic. They’re warm, approachable and clearly passionate about creating the best possible environment for families and educators alike.
Thank you for everything you do. It means the world to us knowing our daughter is in such safe and loving hands every day.” – R.S.

The children are very friendly here too, not too much sickness. We have been here 6 weeks now and have thoroughly loved it. There communication is excellent too and how they handled a small fall from my youngest too. I highly recommend it here.” – J.W.

“This is an amazing centre. My daughter has developed so much in such a short period of time. Programs are meaningful and engaging. The educators are caring and supportive. They give their time to give feedback. Would definitely recommend!” – J.S.

“Wentworthville childcare & preschool is absolutely one of the best around. The staff are amazing and so caring. I couldn't ask for a better school for my child. They are always there with a listening ear when needed whether it's a complaint or just for a chat. Thank you to all the educators, managers we appreciate you all” – S.C.

Good Afternoon I just wanted to share how truly happy I am with how my daughters’ orientation went yesterday. The educators and the centre manager were so warm, caring and welcoming, and they made the whole experience such a positive one. The girls had the best time and did not cry once, they were genuinely so happy to be there. It means so much to see them excited and comfortable from the very beginning, and I am so grateful to the team for creating such a beautiful first experience. From Charbel and Katia El-Halabi

My daughter has settled in so quickly and the educators are all so attentive and treat her like their own. They make the effort to ensure she is always presentable and clean on pick up which I am so beyond impressed with. I toured many centres in the surrounding area and found by far that WCP excels in all areas, particularly cleanliness and communication. I feel so comfortable that my daughter has been taken great care of and highly recommend.
