• Literacy and numeracy: The educators embed mathematical concepts and language skill development into the day-to-day program.
• Extra curricular: Through music, yoga and PE learning, as well as regular excursions and incursions, the children develop their confidence and social skills.
• Second language: The weekly second language program helps the children to appreciate cultural diversity and enhances their cognitive development.
• 3 and 4 years funded Kinder: Delivered by a registered Kinder teacher, the children learn skills that will prepare them for life at school and beyond.
• Sustainability: The children participate in gardening and other sustainability activities where they learn about the importance of caring for their environment.

Bayswater Childcare & Kinder provides all meals for the children each day, catering for all intolerances, allergies and other dietary requirements. The meals are served progressively throughout the day to suit each child’s individual needs. 

We acknowledge the Wurundjeri People as the traditional owners and custodians of the land where our centre stands. We pay our respects to their elders past, present and future and acknowledge that we are meeting, playing, learning and sharing on their land.

We believe that all children have the right to quality early childhood education, sensitive to their needs and provided within a safe, caring, stimulating and healthy environment. 

We believe in providing an inclusive and quality developmental program in which every child feels welcome and valued, and where our children are encouraged to learn through play. We will endeavour to help every child within our care, to reach their full potential.

We recognise that every child, regardless of age, gender, ability, culture or religion is an individual, equally deserving of warmth and attention. All children shall have their diverse backgrounds acknowledged by celebrating the significant occasions and beliefs of both our families and the local community. 

We acknowledge and believe that children firstly belong to a family, and therefore work in partnership with our families. It is our responsibility to be understanding and supportive of both the families and children within our service. We recognise the families’ right to make decisions about their children and will respect and support these decisions. We strongly encourage family participation at all levels and times within the centre. We warmly support our families with advice, encouragement and resources if required.

We believe in providing facilities that are ever evolving to the needs of our children, staff and families. We will endeavour to always look at ways to enhance and improve our environments, both indoors and outdoors. 

We believe in providing a balanced healthy nutritious menu which caters for each individual child’s requirements.

We strive to employ caring and compassionate staff; whose personal philosophy reflects our own. We recognise and value the knowledge and commitment of our educators and fully support their continued professional learning.

We believe in promoting a team environment where healthy discussion and debate is encouraged. This team approach encompasses a positive environment to mentor both students and fellow Early Childhood Professionals. We believe in continuous improvement through researching more efficient practices to extend a strong team of passionate and dedicated educators.

- Bayswater Childcare & Kinder team

There are three rooms at Bayswater Childcare & Kinder that each cater to a different developmental stage. The curriculum is tailored to the ages of the children and aligns with the Early Years Learning Framework. It is a holistic curriculum that uses a play-based approach to spark the children’s curiosity and love of learning. The educators support the children to develop socially, physically, emotionally and cognitively.
