I am writing this comment after my child left the day care for kindergarten. World Tower Child Care is a wonderful place to nourish children. My child was there from 1-4.5 years old. It is a good day care not only because most teachers have been there for years, but also for the preparation they do for children to be ready for school. My own child has been benefiting from the day care a lot. The staff there are very flexible, and as a working parent who does not want to give up my career for child care, this place is amazing as they provide high-quality long-day care from 7 am to 7pm, and every single child carer there really cares about the development of the children. Having a conversation regarding children's education has never been an issue, and you get honest feedback every time. I specifically love how the carers taught children how to share and how to control their emotions. After entering kindergarten, these behaviors and emotional training are completely paid off during the primary school day-to-day activities. I am very thankful to the carers at World Tower. I did notice some day carers, like most Australian day carers, would encourage you to send your child to kindie a year later. However, it proves that it is unnecessary and some children, like mine, though younger than others, would feel bored if saying in day care for one more year than they should, and the child can take off with a speed of light in the primary school if you give them a chance for new challenges. Therefore, I think this childcare is perfect for children from several months to 5 years old. For children between 5-6, I guess it depends on the individual child; some children may feel bored with continuing to stay there, but some others will be more than happy to.

Programs

Programs

Incorporating a range of extracurricular activities and engaging learning experiences, the program at World Tower Child Care is holistic and exciting. The educators make the most of the indoor and outdoor learning spaces to plan a program that will encourage the children to explore the world around them and discover their unique strengths and interests in the process.

The program is individualised for each and every child, respecting and acknowledging that every child has unique needs. The program also allows time for free play, a critical element of early childhood learning and development.

The school readiness program is taught by a university qualified early childhood teacher and helps to build the foundational skills the children will need to succeed at school and beyond. This includes academic skills, such as literacy and numeracy, as well as social and emotional skills that will support their transition to school.

The children also participate in the ELLA digital language program to foster a sense of global citizenship and understanding. They learn early STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) concepts and participate in creative arts, dramatic play and music learning.

Children with additional needs are supported through the Inclusion Support Programme (ISP) in partnership with KU Children’s Services, the NSW Inclusion Support Agency.

Parent communication and involvement

Parent communication and involvement

The educators at World Tower Child Care respect parents and family members as their child’s first teacher. They take the time to get to know each child's family and encourage them to share experiences and ask questions to support their child’s learning.

The centre also has a family app that is updated in real time with stories and photos from the children’s day, inlcuding developmental observations and learning stories. Each child's daily progress is recorded on the app so that their family can see their meal and bottle consumption, nappy and toileting progress and sleeping record for the day. Families can access this app while they are at work or home to feel connected to their child’s learning.

About the curriculum

About the curriculum

The curriculum at World Tower Child Care aligns with the Early Years Learning Framework and is delivered across four rooms:

Nursery - Koala Room (6 Weeks - 2 years)

The children in the nursery follow an individualised routine that mimics their home routine as closely as possible. This provides consistency for the children and helps them to feel safe, secure and settled with their educators.

In the designated outdoor play space, the educators focus on building the children’s gross motor skills. They engage in sensory play to enhance the awareness and development of their five senses.

Junior Toddlers - Joey Room (2 Years - 3 years)

For the Junior Toddlers, there is a strong focus on helping them to develop their independence, self-help skills and self-regulation. They start to develop their social skills and explore the world around them through play.

There is a separate outdoor play area for this age group to allow them to play with their peers in a safe and familiar environment. The curriculum for the Junior Toddlers is more structured than in the nursery, while still allowing them opportunities to discover their own interests and strengths.

Senior Toddlers - Wombat Room (3 Years - 4 Years)

As the Senior Toddlers mature, the focus moves to their social, emotional and cognitive skills. They participate in a wide range of engaging activities, including creative arts, movement, music, language and literature. The daily program is balanced to allow for child-led learning and activities.

The educators continue to work in partnership with families to reach milestones such as toilet training and social skills.

Pre-School - Crocodile Room (4 Years - 6 Years)

The focus in the Pre-School room is on school readiness, helping to prepare the children for life at school and beyond. The school readiness program helps to embed these skills, ensuring the children are set up for success from day one.

The curriculum for this age group is also flexible and child-led, encouraging the children to be accountable and engaged in their learning journey. The connection with the local primary school ensures that children of this class have the opportunity to be exposed to a school setting through an annual excursion, which helps them to gain an understanding of what is expected when starting Kindergarten.

Morning

Isabella arrives at the centre and crawls straight over to an educator reading a book. Once that story is finished, she helps her educator to choose another one.

Lunch

Isabella’s nap time is after lunch. She brings her comforter from home and drifts off to sleep with quiet and relaxing music playing in the background.

Afternoon

Before she goes home, Isabella joins her educators and peers in the nursery’s outdoor play space. She enjoys building a castle in the sandpit.

Centre philosophy

Centre philosophy

Our service Philosophy is developed in consultation with our families and educators as a collaborative body, outlining our beliefs in relation to our children, families, educators, the community and our curriculum. It is reflected within each learning environment of our service including the personal philosophy of the educators and goals for our children.

A review of our philosophy is undertaken on a regular basis to ensure that we are reflecting upon current practices and beliefs, in line with changes in trends in the early childhood sector.

A copy of our philosophy is available for families to view on arrival in our foyer.

Health and Nutrition

Health and Nutrition

Our meals are prepared in our onsite kitchen each day by our qualified cook. Using only the freshest seasonal ingredients, our menu is planned in accordance with the Australian Dietary Guidelines for children and is available for families to view in our foyer and on our app.

Our cook prepares a variety of fresh purees for young babies who are starting to eat solid food. Younger children will have their foods modified from the menu to the required texture of their individual needs and ability.

Special dietary requirements including cultural considerations and children's food allergies will be catered for upon request.

Our cook can amend the daily menu items for children who have trouble trying new foods and will discuss this with families at commencement of enrolment. Please feel free to notify us should your child have special dietary needs and keep us updated should this change.

Cow’s milk is offered at meal times for all age groups. Soy, lactose free, oat or rice milk can be provided upon request by the family.

To protect the children in our care with food allergies, World Tower Child Care is a NUT AWARE SERVICE.

Water is easily accessible through the day for the children in their learning environments and when outdoors.
