KU Mayfield preschool has a wonderful history of providing quality care and education for children since 1948. We are now a CCB approved preschool, open 8:00am - 4:00pm, 52 weeks a year, for children aged 3-5 year olds. We are all very passionate about the work we do with children and families and are extremely proud of the recognition brought by our achievement of Exceeding the National Quality Standard in Early Childhood Education and Care. We are committed to sustained excellent practice through continuous improvement and forward planning.
Our goals are:
*To promote sustainability and connect children to nature through our low-plastics approach, gardening, composting, worm farming, recycling, and reuse.
*To advocate for children’s right to play, and to promote a play based program to families, the community, and the early childhood sector.
*To include children’s voices and ideas throughout the program, as active participants and decision makers.
*To provide a program that embraces the needs of all children and provokes us all to consider issues of social justice, equity, and inclusion.
For the children, we keep it simple: have fun! and Stay Safe! ..
