Nestled in the foothills of the Macedon Ranges, Macedon Early Learning Centre offers an idyllic country setting, delivering exceptional quality care and education for children aged six weeks to six years and includes a fully accredited kindergarten program.
Our dedicated team of educators deliver play-based learning programs that foster a love of learning in a safe and welcoming environment. Our programs are designed to be emergent in nature and are guided by the children’s interests.
Our learning programs are further extended by our events calendar which includes a range of excursions, incursions, community events, and cultural celebrations throughout the year to facilitate an inclusive and holistic understanding of the wider world.
Children’s learning and daily routines are documented and delivered via a safe and secure electronic platform to ensure families are informed and involved in their child’s day.

The educators at Macedon Early Learning Centre understand that for children, the first eight years are fundamental in establishing core values, sense of identity, and self-worth.
They see parents and families as the first educator, and that their role is to work together in a collaborative and supportive way on a child’s learning journey.
The educational philosophies at the centre are based on the Reggio Emilia approach to learning which supports enquiry and play-based learning opportunities in natural and responsive environments. The learning programs are designed to be emergent in nature and guided by the children’s interests and needs.
The centre’s learning programs are informed by both the National Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) which is based on the fundamental belief that children’s lives are characterised as “Belonging, Being and Becoming”; and the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF) which identifies five learning outcomes for children that the centre strives toward:

The educators at MELC are warm, caring, and so engaged with the kids. Our toddler has truly thrived here—she's become more confident, social, and always comes home with little stories The outdoor play area is fantastic—spacious, safe, and filled with activities that encourage creativity and movement. She especially loves the sandpit and all the ride-on toys. We’re so grateful to have found wonderful care in our community. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a nurturing, fun, and educational environment for their little one.

We find Macedon elc authentic. The inside can be a little cosy but outside area is amazing and spacious. The kids have a fantastic connection with the educators. The people make this place fun and comforting.

Both of my daughters have joined MELC. The support in the baby room has been so wonderful - we never get tears from my 1 year old on drop off and I think it’s because she genuinely feels loved and happy to be there. The team have also been flexible to add additional days from time to time which has been a huge help particularly in school holidays.
