This is a place where your kids actually run into daycare (and don't bother looking back!) - if you pick them up early, you're in trouble cause they don't want to miss out on any activities!! The centre is small, nurturing and we found it to place great importance on the learning and development of each child. Communication was great, and we felt very comfortable having our children cared for here 5-days a week, both from age of 9mo until heading off to school. What a gem, and very rare to find! Hope you get a spot.

We are shortly to end a 6.5 relationship with SHELC with our second daughter starting school in 2025. SHELC is truly a - family daycare - with grandparents, husbands wives, aunts grandchildren all involved in the running of the centre over this time. The small centre and class sizes and also the family mindset means all the team have really known our children, understood their needs and recognised if they are having a bad day. Finally - there is always fun - music - singing - for the children and the families. It is very sad to say goodbye. Thankyou Vicky, Manny, Nestor, Maria, Paula, Valeska - and all the educators who have taken such good care of our children.

We have been very happy with the exceptional care at SHELC, where our son has spent 4 years and our daughter 1 year. Maria and her team have created a safe and stimulating environment with lots of fun activities that make our kids feel secure and supported. It's heartwarming to see our kids so happy each morning that they eagerly running into the centre. We are grateful for the team's kindness and dedication, which give us peace of mind knowing our children are in such capable hands.

Our daughter has been at Surry Hills Early Learning Centre (SHELC) since she was 12 months old until now, she is 4. Over the years, we have been happy to trust the care of our daughter to the wonderful team at SHELC, they have kind, caring staff and a great sense of family and community. Our daughter has been very happy there, the small class size has been lovely, she has developed some great friendships. I would recommend to friends and family.

We had a beyond amazing experience at SHELC! You know your kid had a great time there when they talk about their friends and teachers all the time, what they have done everyday when you pick them up. We get to witness our kid grow up one bit by one bit, learning new things everyday. It is so reassuring to know the kids are with good hands and is growing and learning. We just moved to Surry Hills when we started there, the school really helped us engage with the community and made us feel so welcomed and safe. This childcare is run by a family who have their own young kids as well, you know they love and adore kids, and they truly understand the joys and pains being parents and you could tell how much they care about the kids and value the education. The learning curriculum is also well designed, our kid comes home each day with excitement on new things he learnt or experienced! We are so sad to move away and our kid is truly missing the school, talk about the friends and teachers all the time. On the last day, the teachers and the school made a very heart-felt farewell gift for us showing the first day at school till the last day with all his friends. We will forever cherish the amazing time our kid and we had with SHELC.

Our daughter has attended for over 3years and without hesitation her little brother also intends to join her at SHELC soon. Vicky, Manny & Monica treat our daughter like one of their family. She loves her educators and even brings home new Spanish words she has learnt! She’s very happy at SHELC which for us is the most important factor.

The most beautiful daycare centre that is so well run with the most amazing team of staff. They treat the children like their own and it feels like a home away from home for the kids. My son was so happy and settled to go off to care each day and the teachers showered him with love and kindness. We are so sad to be moving away and leaving this amazing place. Thank you Nestor and team - what a special place!

We truly had such a great experience with SHELC. We loved that it was a smaller daycare, run by a family - with Nestor running the ship and Vicky and Manny bringing so much warmth and love to the children - they treated my boys like their own. My boys loved it there and we always knew there was a high level of care taken with them. I highly recommend this daycare to all.
