Every child is unique in their own way. They grow at their own developmental level and comes from a family that have their own beliefs and values. As an early childhood Educator, I believe it is my responsibility to understand the child as a whole and base my program plan according to the child’s needs and parent expectations. I set up a high-quality environment rich with variety of resources where the child can grow, learn and explore at their own developmental level.
My goal is to promote the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development of each child by following the “National quality frame work” and “National quality standards” guidelines.
I also believe that play should be the base of learning since children learn best by doing. I find a balance between program plan directed and child-initiated activities. I carefully observe children to understand children interest areas and add them to the future program plan.
For me the best way to interact with children and guide them is through positive attitude and friendly approach.
I believe children are confident, feel secured, be creative and more likely to explore the world of learning with their sense of belonging. Also, when children have a sense of being they build and maintain relationships with others, take part in life’s journey and face challenges in everyday life. Furthermore, children’s sense of becoming refers to the changes they experience over time as they gain knowledge, extend their understandings, build relationships and develop skills. These enables children to participate actively in the society. Under my family day care setting I cater my service fulfilling these requirements in everyday activities I practice.
