I honestly can’t speak highly enough of Little Beginnings.

My son can have some pretty big behaviours when he’s frustrated or struggling to communicate how he’s feeling. As a parent, leaving your child in someone else’s care can be difficult when you know they can be challenging at times. The educators here have made me feel comfortable and, more importantly, they see my son for who he is rather than judging him by his behaviour.

I recently had to let the centre know about a difficult situation in my life that will affect my son and the way they responded genuinely meant so much to me. There was no judgement, no pressure to explain myself and, most importantly, they never made me feel like I was failing as a parent. They were simply kind, understanding and supportive, showing so much compassion towards both my son and me. They understood that he might need a little extra TLC and were more than happy to give him that. What probably means the most to me is that my son actually tells me he likes going to Little Beginnings. He hasn’t always had positive experiences at child care providers in the past. For context, at his previous centre, he was treated in a way that made him feel like he was a “problem” because of his behaviour and he was often spoken about at the pick up handover, often in front of him too, in a way that felt intended to bring shame to myself and my son, demanding I “sort out” problems and personality traits they clearly experienced from him, that I had not experienced with him in my care, so hearing my little love say that he likes going here and list his favorite things, has honestly been such a relief.

I’d absolutely recommend Little Beginnings, especially to parents whose children may struggle with big emotions, challenging behaviours or communicating how they feel.

Sometimes, you just need people who are willing to look beyond the behaviour and see the child and that’s exactly what I’ve found here.
