St Michael's Pre-school provides an environment that is secure, warm and exciting. Our teaching incorporates the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP) to develop life-long skills that children can take and use both inside and outside the classroom, and to support children’s efforts to construct meaning from the world around them.

We engage the children in the inquiry of learning from the very beginning of their education to develop:
• a positive self-concept and an increasing understanding and knowledge of the world
• emotional security and the freedom to have fun through exploration and social interactions
• social awareness and friendship skills that instil trust, the ability to share, to cooperate and to develop positive relationships
• language and communication skills through guided and free inquiry

• physical health through body awareness, sensory perception, and fine and gross motor skills
• creativity through self-expression, language, music and inquiry.

At St Michael's Pre-school specialist teachers enrich and extend the programme and include an Atelierista (Visual Arts teacher), Music specialist, French teacher and Fundamental Movement teacher.
