About Goodstart Early Learning Altona

Goodstart Altona caters to children aged 6 weeks to 5 years in a warm, welcoming and homelike environment. Staffed by an expert team of dedicated educators, the children’s interests and strengths are nurtured. Through an inclusive and community-focused approach, the educators ensure the children develop socially, emotionally, cognitively and physically.

In the large outdoor play space the children can enjoy the sandpit, climbing equipment or water play. There is also plenty of shade for all day play and synthetic turf to create a safe environment for the children to discover the world around them. There are also veggie gardens to teach the children about responsibility and caring for nature.

Indoors, the children have access to a wide range of resources so they can explore their own interests in an interactive and immersive environment. They can sing, dance, build, create, explore and play. The rooms are light and bright, thanks to large windows that allow natural light to flood into the building.

The centre has easy parking access and is near to the Altona Primary School and Blyth Street bus stops. Why not book a tour of this multicultural and friendly centre today?

Curriculum and programs

Curriculum and programs

The educators at Goodstart Early Learning follow an evidence-based curriculum that aligns with the Early Years Learning Framework. Informed by world-leading research, practices and techniques, the curriculum encourages the children’s natural curiosity and engages them in their learning journey.

As the children move through the different rooms in the centre, the curriculum evolves with them. The educators set goals for the children and celebrate as they reach their milestones. At every stage, the educators are tailoring the curriculum and goals to each child’s individual needs.

The curriculum involves different types of learning experiences and styles. From child-led learning to sessions guided by educators, the children participate in small and large group sessions as well as individual play. Most importantly, the children learn through play, developing social skills, confidence and independence in addition to more formal academic skills.

Parent communication and involvement

Parent communication and involvement

Goodstart Early Learning uses the StoryPark app to connect with parents throughout the day. The educators upload photos and stories to the secure app, which parents can access anytime and anywhere to track their child’s progress.

The approach at the centre is very much based around partnership between families and educators. The educators work with the parents and carers to build strong relationships. They develop trust so the children can feel safe and secure while at the centre. Parents are also encouraged to share their insights and feedback with educators to add depth to the relationship.

The educators observe the children every day and tailor the program around their observations. They share these with parents, so they can feel connected to their child’s progress and also provide feedback that will further enhance their child’s learning experience.

They can then bring this knowledge back to the centre to share with their colleagues for the benefit of the children.

We are so grateful to Stacey and all the wonderful educators at Goodstart Early Learning Altona for always being so supportive and welcoming to our family. From Jax’s time in nursery to now being in kindergarten, they have continuously supported his growth and development with so much care and kindness. It has been amazing watching Jax grow in confidence, learning, and social skills over the years. The educators truly go above and beyond to create a safe, nurturing, and positive environment for the children. Thank you Stacey and the whole team for everything you do for Jax and our family. We are very grateful and highly recommend Goodstart Altona ❤️

We have been to several Goodstart childcare center and this has been hands down the best one. We started a few weeks ago and the difference has been night and day. We can tell that our child Alex in nursery is truly taken care of and we felt at peace and ease when dropping him off and picking him up. We are very happy with the care our child has been receiving here and we look forward on seeing him grow here over the next few years.

I would like to leave an excellent review for Goodstart Childcare in Altona for their patience, passion, and incredible work with my toddler since she was 12 months old. My daughter is very attached to us and usually does not let others babysit her, but with this childcare, she feels secure and happy. The educators respond to her when she gets upset, making her feel safe and supported. She comes home telling us she had a great day, played with her friends (even naming them), and was truly happy. Throughout her journey at Goodstart, my child has developed incredibly. She brings home books and uses her imagination to link stories with pictures, and we can see she has learned this at childcare. She has also learned cooking skills and improved her motor skills, both indoors and outdoors. A special thanks to Stacy, the manager, for being so approachable, knowledgeable, and always supportive. Hayley has been incredibly passionate and caring toward my child. Debti shows natural love and warmth, while Ibby has been so kind and welcoming. My child truly feels at home at this center, and I’m grateful for the care and dedication of the entire team.
