Welcome!
We pride ourselves on our inclusive, family like environment in which our children flourish. We offer a play-based approach where our children can play, learn and discover in imaginative and creative ways.
Community Kindergartens
Community kindergartens, or "kindys," offer a unique alternative to traditional school-based kindergarten programs. Situated within purpose-built buildings separate from school sites, community kindys provide a distinctive and enriching early education experience. The Department of Education supports these kindys by providing teachers, education assistants, and an operating grant, ensuring high-quality learning environments.
Each community kindy is managed collaboratively by a parent committee and dedicated teaching staff. Families play a vital and active role within the kindy community, often contributing their skills or volunteering for various tasks. This collective effort fosters a supportive and vibrant learning atmosphere.
Play-based Learning
At the heart of community kindys is a strong emphasis on play-based learning. Through engaging activities, children develop essential skills in socializing, communication, emotional growth, motor skills, and problem-solving. Literacy and numeracy are seamlessly integrated into these playful experiences, making learning both interesting and enjoyable for children.
Research highlights the benefits of play-based programs, demonstrating that they provide a robust foundation for future academic success. These programs nurture socially competent learners who are well-equipped to face challenges and find innovative solutions. At community kindys, play is not just an activity—it's a fundamental part of learning and development.
