At Oakdowns Early Learning Centre, we focus on creating a safe and supportive place for your child’s early years. Our centre is located in the City of Clarence, Tasmania, and we encourage learning through play.
The indoor and outdoor learning environments at Oakdowns Early Learning Centre are spacious and designed to stimulate creativity and imagination. The centre is purpose-built to provide a positive and engaging learning environment, where the children are encouraged to develop their skills and abilities through individualised, play-based learning, ensuring that each child's strengths and abilities are nurtured.
Our passionate educators work closely with families and the local community to ensure each child feels valued and connected. We provide a holistic approach to early education, giving your child the tools they need to explore the world around them, using the principles and practices of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF). This framework is Australia's national curriculum framework for early childhood education, and it guides our program as we work to foster each child's development and learning.
We are open Monday - Friday from 7:00am - 6:30pm, offering early learning education and care for children aged from 6 weeks to school-age.

Not somewhere I’d recommend you send your child/baby. They are all family there, and it’s mainly just the staffs kids. It seems to be, if you don’t know them Personally they just don’t care or look after your kids. I had the worst experience here. I pulled my son out after only going two days total. His belongings were taken by other kids/parents with the carers knowing this, and they don’t feed them properly or offer alternative foods, nor do they contact you during the day to say your kid hasn’t/wont eat. ( my child eats everything ) They also take money out of your bank account when they shouldn’t. Save yourself the trouble, and time. Worst experience I’ve had with a child care. I’m still shocked.

My daughter got very red and swollen on her private parts. I figured that it may have been the wipes that they were using at the centre, so I provided the same brand I use at home. Everything was okay for a while until once again she was swollen and red, except this time she freaked out horribly at having her nappy changed. She was crying and trying to get away. It traumatised both me and her. I quit working and have stayed home ever since. I spoke to my child health nurse about it, and she agreed that it was the best choice to never return her to this daycare. She was too young to tell me what happened to make her so scared to have her nappy changed. If she were older and could communicate at the time, I wouldn't be leaving a review, and I would have taken other avenues. My older two children never came home from daycare acting like this. I had very positive experiences and had no worries going back to work until my youngest daughter went here. I will never use a daycare ever again.

Thanks, The Kids Club Team ***Edited Updated*** Hi D Hart, We noticed a name change as well as an update to your initial review, and wanted to let you know we have taken your feedback seriously and have worked with the centre to further investigate your daughter’s enrolment with us. As your enrolment ended with us over 6 months ago, our Centre Director and Room Leader at the time have gone through all communications, reports, emails and notes to see if they could uncover any updates on your daughters nappy rash, to no avail, so are incredibly saddened to hear that your time with us was ended without taking the time to discuss this was an issue with any of our Educators, Educational Leaders, Centre Director or Area Manger, which could have been resolved instead of the reasoning you gave to leaving was due to no longer completing your course. Our team at Kids Club Oakdowns are incredibly proud of the strong bonds and relationships they build with not only the children, but families alike, and aim to create a safe and loving environment for all children.
