Dear families that read this review, if you have any care about your child, please STAY AWAY from this centre!

We enrolled our child to Where We Grow Tinks Road last year in July, first 3-4 months were good and then it all went down hill from there.

From centre managers changing monthly, owners trying to sell the place (which fell through after we all provided personal details to the company that was buying it),closing down centres and combining with other existing centres which also created a lot of educator changes which is never good for the children…the list is endless. All this shows that this company/centre is a sinking ship where no one cares about families but only their profits.

After the failed sale to another company, Where We Grow charged us $2067 for a month which was supposed to be $1420, that money left our account with no notice, there was no care about possible implications of taking this large lump sum and the impact it would have on most families.
It took over 3 months to finally get an explanation to what happened, after talking to multiple managers at the centre and area manager Julie who only responded to our initial email and ignored all our follow up emails while we waited for an answer.
On the rare occasion that you find someone at the front desk, I would ask about the account/money issue, where one time I was lied straight to my face with an excuse saying “out of 10-15 emails they sent out that day” only our one “bounced back”.

This wasn’t the only money related issue because few months before I mentioned to the centre manager that our repayments were never consistent even though our child’s days and CCS never changed during that period.

It’s been almost a month since we un-enrolled our child from Where We Grow, we have already noticed a huge change in their confidence, drop offs and pick ups are much smoother at the new childcare centre even though it’s only been 2-3weeks.

I wish I never had to write a review like this because at the end of the day it’s our child that had to go through massive changes and lost some of her favourite educators and friends she’s met over the last year.

I would never recommend this childcare centre to any family. Our son attended this centre from the time he was five months old, and after everything we experienced, leaving was an easy decision.

Communication throughout our time at the centre was extremely poor. One of the most concerning incidents was when our son was dropped, and we weren’t informed until about a week later. As a parent, that is completely unacceptable. Families should be told immediately if their child has been involved in an incident, not days later.

There were also occasions where our son was left in a soiled nappy for an unacceptable amount of time. It’s heartbreaking to think your child isn’t receiving the level of care they deserve, especially when they’re too young to tell you themselves.

We raised concerns throughout our time at the centre but never felt they were taken seriously. When we made the decision to leave.

The Centre Director also said that the Regional Manager might contact me to discuss my concerns, but I never heard from anyone. It left me feeling like our concerns didn’t matter and that there was no genuine interest in addressing the issues we had raised.

Since leaving, we also found out that one of the educators had been made redundant. She was a wonderful educator who genuinely cared about the children, and it was sad to hear she was no longer there.

Overall, we left feeling dismissed, unheard and incredibly disappointed. A childcare centre should be built on trust, honest communication and genuine care for children and their families. Unfortunately, that wasn’t our experience.

Since changing childcare, the difference in our son has been incredible. He is so much happier, more confident, and comes home smiling every day. He is genuinely himself again—if anything, an even happier version of himself. Seeing how settled, secure and excited he is now has confirmed that leaving was the best decision we could have made for him. I only wish we had made the move sooner.

I attended a tour of this centre today and was shown around by a staff member named Steph. I left feeling shocked and deeply uncomfortable. From the beginning of the tour, I was spoken to in a condescending and dismissive manner. Every question I asked was met with an attitude that made me feel belittled rather than informed. As a parent considering where to place my child, I expect professionalism and respect — neither of which I experienced. At one point, as I was walking through a doorway, Steph deliberately pulled the door closed while I was exiting. It felt intentional and completely inappropriate. If this is how a prospective parent is treated, it raises serious concerns about how children and families are spoken to when no one else is present. I was initially only shown one room and had to question why I wasn’t being shown the outdoor area where my daughter would be spending time. Transparency during a tour should be standard, not something a parent has to push for. If a staff member feels comfortable treating an adult in this manner, I believe management should seriously investigate how she interacts with children in her care. That concern alone is enough for me to decide that I will never enrol my child here. I strongly urge management to address this matter and review how families are treated, because my experience was unacceptable.

We confirmed our child’s enrollment and booking on Friday. When we arrived to drop her off on Monday, we were told she was not enrolled and no place was available. This caused major stress and disruption with no prior communication or explanation. For a childcare provider, basic administrative reliability is essential, and unfortunately this was a very disappointing experience.

My daughter attended this service since she turned one and finished last week as she is starting school next week. I have seen alot of change in management but good thing is that they bring to higher management from below. I had issues but they listened and helped me to manage the issues. I will highly recommend this service. Unfortunately fees at this centre have gone up but this is something management needs to re-think. Plus giving free public holidays, plus 50% discount on sick and holidays will attract more parents.
