About Guidepost Montessori Doncaster

Guidepost Montessori is one of the world’s largest and most trusted Montessori education networks, dedicated to transforming early childhood learning for children and families worldwide. With more than 100 campuses across the United States, Singapore, Indonesia, Hong Kong, and Mainland China, we bring a proven, and authentic Montessori approach to every community we serve.

Our programs are designed for children from infancy through their early years, built on a child-centred philosophy that fosters independence, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning. Each campus offers thoughtfully prepared environments, bilingual learning opportunities, and a nurturing educational pathway tailored to support children’s holistic development.

We are proud to announce our expansion into Australia, beginning with our first campuses in Melbourne. Families in Doncaster, Box Hill and Mount Waverley will soon have access to the same high-quality Montessori education that has made Guidepost a leader in early childhood education worldwide.

As we continue to grow, our mission remains the same: to offer an educational experience where children thrive, families belong, and learning knows no boundaries.

Nido (Nursery program for children ages up to 18 months)

A Guidepost Nido, or “nest” in Italian, is designed to provide a safe, comforting, and predictable environment for infants. This environment serves as a secure home base from which babies can confidently begin exploring and learning about everything around them. In the caring and supportive Nido classroom, infants and young toddlers can safely explore and develop new abilities. It is incredible to see what your child can achieve in an environment that enables independent experimentation and adaptation.

Toddler (for children ages 18-36 months) icon

Toddler (for children ages 18-36 months)

A Guidepost toddler community is designed for the boundless energy and intense need for independence that are the signature features of toddlerhood. During the toddler years, your child experiences an astonishing amount of growth with language acquisition, motor development, social and emotional skills. Our Toddler program offers a safe and engaging space where young children internalise just how capable they are, building their view of self on a foundation of trust, joy, independence, and encouragement.

Children's House (Kindergarten program for children ages 3-6 years) icon

Children's House (Kindergarten program for children ages 3-6 years)

A Guidepost Children’s House classroom is a carefully-prepared, child-sized classroom in which your child can direct her own activity, building confidence and social skills while maximising her own capability to learn and love learning. The Children’s House includes five different classroom areas, each one with enticing and sequenced materials that each child will be introduced to over multiple years, in response to individual developmental timelines. Our Children House program empowers children to take increasing ownership over their learning journey while building the foundational knowledge, skills, and attitudes they’ll need to flourish in elementary and beyond.

Centre philosophy

Centre philosophy

A Foundation for Lifelong Success
discover your focused, independent, and joyous child

Most schools measure success by compliance: correct answers, quiet classrooms, test scores that confirm children have absorbed what they were told.

Guidepost Montessori measures something harder to fake — whether a child can direct their own learning, recover from difficulty, and keep going without being prompted.

That capacity is agency. It develops through years of structured practice — not through motivation posters or growth mindset workshops. Our programs for children aged 2 months to 6 years build it deliberately, from the first day of Nido through the final year of Children's House.

Kindergarten/Preschool Programs

Kindergarten/Preschool Programs

Our Children's House program is a carefully prepared, child-sized Montessori kindergarten in which children aged 3 to 6 direct their own activity, building confidence, social skills, and deep academic foundations while falling in love with learning. Five different classroom areas, each with sequenced materials introduced over multiple years, in response to each child's individual developmental timeline.

Our Children's House empowers children to take increasing ownership of their learning while building the knowledge, skills, and attitudes they need to flourish in Primary and beyond.

Program highlights

Practical Life
A four-year-old polishing brass with focused care. Real tasks, real tools, completed start to finish. Not housekeeping — the foundation of executive function: planning, sequencing, sustained attention, completion.

Sensorial: The Scientific Mind
The Pink Tower, color tablets, geometric solids. Each material isolates one quality. Before a child can think mathematically, she must perceive precisely. These materials lay the concrete foundation for abstract reasoning, geometry, and arithmetic.

Mathematics You Can Hold
A child holding a thousand-cube of golden beads, solving four-digit addition by combining physical quantities. Many Children's House graduates do four-digit addition by age five — not because they were drilled, but because they understand what numbers mean.

Reading and Writing, Child-Driven
Sandpaper letters traced with two fingers. A movable alphabet. Writing before reading — a child composes words long before she decodes a printed page. By the end of Children's House, most children are reading fluently and joyfully, because reading was never a chore.

Understanding Our World
Puzzle maps of continents, flags, cultural objects, simple experiments with magnets and living things. Geography, culture, and science as windows into the world — not subjects to memorize. This early exposure builds the framework for history, biology, and physics later.

A Mixed-Age Community
A five-year-old showing a three-year-old the addition strip board. Older children deepen mastery by teaching. Younger children see the path ahead. Every child works at her own developmental point. No class ranking, only individual progress.

A True Partnership with Your Family
Parents receive daily photos, written observations, and Guide notes through our parent app. Our Guides track each child against developmental benchmarks and share specific evidence in regular conferences. You will know exactly where your child stands, what they have mastered, and what comes next.

Your Family's Global Classroom
Guidepost's 100+ campuses worldwide mean your child’s education travels with your family. On a holiday or business trip, enjoy Guidepost Roaming: continue at any participating campus globally for a week, a month, or longer, from Hong Kong to Shanghai to The U.S. And when families relocate, children do not start over. Same prepared environment, same materials, same approach. New community to grow into.
